We should all make sure to enjoy this magical time while it lasts. With a clean slate for X-Men movies, anything is possible.

Thinking about underused characters, I'm not sure if I NEED to see Gambit in the MCU, but he never did get any scenes with Rogue over at Fox so there's that.

Actually (and I was shocked to discover this), the original Longshot mini by Ann Nocenti and Art Adams where he, Mojo and Spiral first appeared was NOT an X-Men tie-in at the time. It's labeled as such now, but none of the heroes that drop in on the action are mutants.

I'd like an X-Men vs Avengers film but that seems more like a 2nd or 3rd movie in a new series and not sure about the Pheonix for a third time

Introducing mutants and the X-Men in the MCU will be a big step and should be a big focus for the first film. I'm assuming mutants are from an alternate world that is getting destroyed and so they come to the MCU by the quantum realm somehow..OR it's discovered that mutant genes always existed but was believed to all be meta powers until now as charles and someone like beast studies the differences then form a team

A proper role in a X-Men team movie. I don't need to see a movie featuring Dazzler and her origin story, if Marvel Stud10s could give her a proper role in a X-Men team movie in which she works alongside the other X-Men.

I'm fine if they don't feature Prestige. She's Jean 2.0. There's more interesting characters to utilize

I think they'd start from scratch with 90s Jean, Cyke, Psylocke, Wolverine, etc. Some stores in Mexico are selling Marvel's "original superhero stories" in Spanish (Ironman, Thor, Spiderman, etc.) and the ones I found for X-Men were 1991 issues. (I love reading comparing the translations) Anyway one of them is issue #35.

The team on the top left corner is the roster for these (Cyclops, Rogue, Psylocke, Gambit, Wolverine, Beast). There was another team featuring Storm, Jean, Iceman, Archangel, Bishop, Nightcrawler, Colossus. I wouldn't mind if they all featured in different combinations for 5 films or so. + Kitty Pryde of course. 14 characters.

It doesn't make sense to go 80s on the X-Men if the most popular line-ups came out of the 90s.

They have to say that mutant always existed since centuries
Apocalypse exist since 3000 B.C
Wolverine Mystique Sabretooth are born in 1880's

They cant say mutants phenomen is new! In X-men Fox saga, government already known mutants in 70's, but people only know mutants in 2000's

In MCU they must do the same thing

I've seen a few ideas for crafting some epic space adventures for the X-Men, weaving in the Shi'Ar and the Starjammers and possibly a proper version of the Phoenix if we're not too tired of that one. Now that Captain Marvel gave the Kree and the Skrulls some proper screentime, we really need the Shi'Ar to round things out. Can't wait to see how they make those feather-crowns look.

Another thought I had would involve letting the rest of the MCU do some heavy lifting. If the FF have a movie where they fight Kang the Conqueror, they can force him to retreat and leave Damocles Base behind, and that'd become the new headquarters for SWORD where we can introduce Abigail Brand to the MCU so the X-Men can interact with her.

I won't go into specific stories, but I'll be happy if we can have films set around the more serious human/mutant conflict, and the more outrageous, fantastical space or dimensional jumping adventures.

I'd like a film exploring say, the Friends of Humanity in one film, and then have a more outrageous film around Mojo or the Savage Land, or what have you.

There is just so much to explore.

That is another way the MCX can distinguish itself. At FOX it was all "Every movie needs to be the same," always grounded, always human v. mutant, always Xavier v Magneto, always revolving around Wolverine. The new movies can be "every X-Men movie will be completely different from each other."

Hm, I don't know. Disney will probably ruin the MCU once they've got a formula for cashing out on Marvel movies with as little work as possible.

Also Fox recently forgot the X-Men were superheroes and sort of left the mutants running around in their own little world. The most abused X-Men plot (that I believe Endzone has mentioned before) is Professor X getting taken out of the picture for the final act (X1 in a coma, X2 kidnapped and turned into a weapon, X3 killed, Days of Future Past stuck under some rubble, X:A kidnapped again; Logan killed yet again)

In fairness, Xavier getting taken out happens a lot outside the films too. In the old days of the Original 5 he would frequently show up and solve everything with his powers, so later in the Claremont years he would get sidelined every so often.

The cartoons did it too; remember when he was stranded in the Savage Land with Magneto for all of Season 2? And no series sidelines him more than Wolverine and the X-Men, where we went into a coma in Ep1 and came to in the bombed-out future.

It's still something we could stand to see less of.
