I seriously hope that they get a British actress to play Croft this time. Also, they need an actual freaking story this time around, and Lara has to have a personality other than "she's tough" or "she has cool gear."
A while back I stumbled across some of the Tomb Raider comics online, and the first run or two were actually pretty good (after that it was kind of hit or miss, especially with the art). Not necessarily good enough that I'd want a movie made out of them, but they at least gave Lara a personality, and plausible reasons for having it.
Also, something funny in the comics that not even the games seemed to address, is the fact that Lara is unusually attractive for someone in her line of work. In the game, you're just expected to accept that that the was she looked was simply part of the game's world, but in the comics, it was like every other guy she came across was chasing her skirt. It kind of made her character a bit more believable, because let's face it: if your job was dealing with low life thugs to get information about stolen artifacts or whatever, and you looked like a model, you could probably expect to get hit on more than a few times.
