Megan Fox as Lara Croft?

I think a lot of times reboots are necessary. Batman needed it. James Bond needed it. Superman needs it. Tomb Raider needs it.

And it makes sense with a reboot since it's going to be a new creative team, a new studio, and whatnot. Considering that Warner Bros. will eventually end up buying Eidos, I wouldn't be surprised to see if they end up with the rights to Hitman from Fox, or do something with other Eidos properties.
I agree Batman needed it. Not sure Bond needed it, (the Craig films are great though) I agree Superman needs it, but I read about people wanting a Spider-Man reboot because they didn't like 3, it doesn't need it. Punisher didn't need it. It's a 'sometimes yes, sometimes no" thing. As for Tomb Raider, does anyone really want another film period? Sequel or reboot?

This strikes me as something that will get made - unlike some that get officially announced by the studio, gain alot of initial interest and/or press but ultimately wind-up going nowhere (i.e. Akira and Robotech anyone?)

Agreed. Some movie franchises simply can't be salvaged without pulling the plug entirely on the original story. Personally, I'd love to see the Resident Evil movie franchise rebooted, because I see nothing in the originals that's worth salvaging, and what's there has done permanent damage to the mythos. However, I also agree that there are plenty of movies that got rebooted that didn't need it, like The Punisher, and there are of course fanboys out there who clamor for reboots just because they didn't like the last movie, like with Spider-Man. Rebooting is a valid option in many instances, but it's one that needs to be used with caution.

For me, that would really depend on how much I like the next game. I'm still waiting for a price drop on Underworld, because I've heard it's decent, but flawed. If Eidos can pull together a truly great game next time around, it would do a lot in regards to rejuvenating my interest in the franchise.
