Iron Man Sequels Mel Gibson to direct IM4?

I don't like the things Mel Gibson has said but everyone deserves a second chance and he's a great director.

It's pretty heart-warming that helping out a friend was the deciding factor for RDJ doing IM4, not just money.

I don't think he's being as serious about it as you guys think he is, but holy hell would a Mel Gibson Iron Man movie rule.

Well, RDJ probably figured that since he got his buddy Shane Black to direct IM3, he can do the same for Mel Gibson. RDJ still wants to pay the debt he is owed to Gibson, who lobbied hard for him to get the role of Tony Stark which not only helped him to climb out of the cellar of Hollywood, but he subsequently became the highest-paid actor. I don't like Mel Gibson and his religious beliefs, but I think Marvel should give him a chance to direct IM4. IM3 was a mixed bag and I hope the next movie would get a chance to become brilliant.

No way in hell would Marvel let Gibson direct IM4 and I think RDJ knows that. He's just being a good supportive friend by answering the interviewer's question like that.

Mel Gibson really has a PR problem and while Phase 3 runs through 2019 and Iron Man 4 will most likely be in 2020, I can't imagine people forgetting about mad Mel's past behavior, particularly the angry phone calls.

This...and reading the full interview it sounded more like a joke, or like the interviewer really wanted a clickbait headline.
I don't think Mel Gibson will be involved in any part of the MCU (unless it's as a HYDRA villain).

He'd be an interesting choice if this were to actually happen. In fact, Gibson wouldn't be a bad choice for Count Nefaria. I wouldn't mind seeing him cast himself as that character in this scenario.

FWIW, RDJ and Black wanted to cast him as President Ellis in IM3.

Don't fail this Marvel!

Non-story. The interviewer brought it up as a topic, not RDJ. He might as well haves asked him would he do it if Disney paid him a billion.

This story is nothing but click-bait.

RDJ didn't bring it up. So, this is nothing.
