Iron Man 3 Shane Black to write/direct?

Writer's block sucks! Especially when you're close to the end :csad:

I really need to see Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.

Dear Shane Black,

Disregard the previous post!

Gracias

Dear Shane Black,

What HappyPalooza said. Also bring back Black Sabbath's Iron Man.

Merci.

i would for the next movie to open up like the first one did, but with thunderstruck instead of shoot to thrill. that song is just perfect for building up a moment, especially the opening guitar rhythm.

Dear Shane Black,

What HappyPalooza and Iron Stark said.

Arigato.

Agreed. Mandarin or bust. If they haven't written Mandarin in my now they need to get the script and throw it in the dumpster, pack their s*** and go home.

I hope Shane Black will avoid the pitfalls that IM2 fell into, namely, the awful script, and make sure they have enough time to polish it before they start shooting. If IM3 turns out to be merely average like IM2, I think the BO will reflect it because GA won't fall for it again.

Awesome I have faith in this guy and I heard that he was one of the reasons that RDJ got Iron Man is that true?

Black actually has more time to do this than Favreau had with the first one. Now will it make a difference? Who knows.

They need to cut out the jokes, not make it super serious, but drop the jokes.

Bring in Mandarin and focus on the conflict between Tony and him. No clone sidekicks, and no other people trying to play hero. IM2 didn't suffer from villainitis, it suffered from too many people trying to play hero.

Tony, Mandarin and one of his lackies (Ghost or someother hired hand) should be the ONLY ones in costume.

More action sequences, he shouldn't drop from a plane and avoid fireworks and drop infront of cheerleaders, he should be avoiding SAMs and land infront of a warzone.

That's pretty much it.

Favreau was the main reason he got the part, but RDJ consulted with Black about the character when he got the part.

Favreau and Downey also sought Black's advice when running into story issues or looking for input.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was fantastic .. i was disappointed with iron man 2 but I can't wait to see what Black does with the film

Instead of the Ghost, it should be Radioactive Man. He's from China, and he was also Mandarin's lackey in Iron Man #180-181. He fought Iron Man (although it was Rhodey in the armor at the time) and then was shown to be working for the Mandarin. However, Radioactive Man did show up again later in his own right against Tony (in the new red and gold post Armor Wars armor).

Mandarin and the Ghost don't really seem connected. Having Mandarin and Radioactive Man would be the equivalent of a James Bond movie having Dr No and Oddjob to fight. One is the evil mastermind, the other is the hired muscle.

That really is the first thing I think of when I hear Radioactive Man.

"MY EYYYEESS! THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!"

Lol, yeah the Simpsons really ruined it for Mr. Lu.

He is a pretty cool character, though I doubt we'll be seeing him on screen though.

Well, just like they never referred to Mickey Rourke's character as Whiplash, they can just refer to him as Chen Lu.

Or if he does call himself Radioactive Man, they should pre-empt any audience mockery of it by having Tony Stark mock him and say "what, like the Simpsons character?", making Mr Lu even madder.

Obadiah Stane was never explicitly identified as Iron Monger, either (the closest he came was when he said "We're iron mongers, Tony.") Similar to Tony's "You want to be the war machine?" line to Rhodey in IM2. So I can see them using Radioactive Man in IM3 but never actually calling him so.

It's my hope Mr. Black keeps to what Favreau had started and kept it true to the source material. I like the humor, Stark has always been sarcastic, least till late in the comics and hope that stays.
As a Iron man fan, I am not to concerned about whether or not Mandarin makes it into the movie or not, would it be cool, sure, but that said, Iron Man has plenty of rogues that would look great on the big screen, especially since they had indicated wanting to go back to basics, more Tom Clancy esque so characters like Ghost, Spymaster and Madam Masque would be great.
Now with characters like these, epic battles would not be likely, not like a fight between Iron Man and Mandarin, Crimson Dynamo or Titanium Man, so it should be really interesting to see exactly where they go.

I don't trust Shane Black these days. If he was going to direct the movie along time ago then I wouldn't be skeptical because of his involvement. However, I am still going to see Ironman 3 but will walk into it with low expectations on the other hand. I still have the bad taste of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in my mouth, I have this bad feeling that he wants to make an Ironman sequel that is more serious than it should be and less fun than it should be.
