youve been here a while....do you ever plan to leave?

I was going to retire this name at 19,999 and never hit the 20,000 post marker and create Matt 2...but then I realized I'd have to wait for my I Kid You Not Guy avatar...which made me sad :( Does that count?

The Hype is a good way to kill some free time. Its not like I live, die, eat, and sleep on this site. Its just a hobbie. I'll quit some day...but why bother now?

If thats the case, I'd say you failed. ;) Quit being such an old grouch Nivek. Enjoy the thread and reminisce or at least have the curteousy to not bring everyone else down.

We'll always have Brandons Burgandy panties, eh?

I still have yet to make 5000 posts

and I've been here technically the longest...

I am quite the kaanji I must admit... but I remember the days when people would be spouting rumors about Vin Diesel as Luthor or when one dude, I can't remember his name now but I think it began with a Z... something like Zing or someone, who was a huge gigantic Wellingite and kept on saying he had "accurate insider information" that Welling had DEFN been cast and that all of us should just WAIT AND SEE and we'll all be biting our own asses cuz we would be all wrong cuz McG managed to cast Welling somehow

Then later in those couple of weeks, the whole I can't fly to Australia and shoot cuz i'm afraid of flying bullcrap story came up, McG exited then Singer stepped on board after some time... rather funny business

I wonder whatever happened to that guy... he was right on some of his insider accounts but jeez, i twas so funny seeing how he kept on saying WELLING HAS BEEN CAST... JUST WAIT AND SEE... then poof... out and gone like Cyclops... a far in the wind to quote Moriarty

Hehe yea, that made me laugh to. Although, it was kind of a joke for an X-men Franchise from day one. A Wolverine franchise, it may have been good as...but thats it.

matt, were you around here xmen 1 was released?

You know who you should talk to about Hulk? Nivek. You know how Nivek treats all us people who dislike Superman Returns? Thats EXACTLY how he acted with Hulk. Funny enough, posters treated him the same way he treats us. Go figure...

Anyway, I guess he turned out to really like Hulk.

oh really? who dislikes superman returns???

Myself, Hunter Rider to an extent, that type of poster...I wasn't talking about you, I was generalizing the "haters" as we've commonly been called.

That's wierd because I remember posting pretty heavily on an X1 board prior to the film. I thought it was this one but it couldn't have been because you predate me. Besides,I think this was just SpidermanHype back then.

When did this become SuperheroHype?

2002. Perhaps you're thinking of the X-2 board?

Possibly. Do you know the address? I first posted on the "beseen" X-board which turned out to be a group of Singer-haters who wanted the film to fail - needless to say I didn't get on with them very well.

Then a person called MrSinister kindly directed me to another more friendly board. I always thought it was this one. Damn my failing memory.

Yeah. Hulk rules. I notice nivy gets pretty acerbic (good word choice?) towards some who don't quite like everything about supey's return (I don't see the need to since this movie will guranteed be a good film regardless of any niggles. Singer's a trustworthy director in my book.), but hey now... wait a minute... you did too, to me one time. I forget what was said, but all I remember is the pain. That hurt, but I managed to take a deep breath and move on with life. :( You and Niv need to hug instead of fight, I think.

I remember back in 2000, discussing this movie in the Misc. DC Comics part of the SPIDER-MAN HYPE! Forums. Back in the days when all TWENTY of us active posters were merely speculating and fantasizing over all kinds of notions...Everyone from Patrick Warbutton of Seinfeld fame to Patrick Duffy of Dallas fame had their own Superman thread, by craaazy newbies. A movie based on Superman Blue vs Superman Red (yes someone actually suggested it), Michelle Pfieffer as Lois Lane and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Clark...(thanks a lot Bakerboy)

I remember back in 2002 when SPIDER-MAN HYPE! became SUPERHERO HYPE! and every other day there was a thread in comments and support on making a Superman forum, and Mirko kept saying not until the movie is green-lit, then locking the thread......literally every-other-day.

I remember back in 2003 when Wolfgang Petersen signed on to do The World's Finest starring Collin Ferrel and Jude Law...at the time it sounded absolutely *****in'...then he directed Troy and Poseidon.

I remember back in 2004, the Welling debates, McG signing to the project, McG leaving the project, Ratner signing to the project, leaving the project, finally settling on Singer.

Finally, 2006. I like some of you, some of you like me. Many of you dislike me, I dislike many of you...but regardless of that, here is to a great six year wait on the Hype, and opening night.

dude i remeber all that..the hype was a different place then... i was Shaft back then at Spider-man hype.. so long ago.. i was battleing for David borenaz to sign as Batman...how wrong i was.

the one thing i rememeber the most is the coming together of this particular board when we finnally starting seeing better pictures and actual trailers. the board came around to Brandon.

who now i hope not many would disagree..now see Brandon as the man of steel. :)

i also signed up here when it was still Spiderman Hype. in fact i distinctly remember the first poll i voted in, something like "Do you want Spiderman Hype to cover other superheroes too?" and i voted "hell yeah!" :D. unfortunately i couldnt remember my original nick anymore-- or even the email address i used for it. for the longest time i didnt want to re-register because i wanted my old nick dammit! but finally i gave up and sign up again :(

i wish i can get to see my first 100 posts now, cuz i sure want to see where and what kind of foolishness i've been posting back in the day :p

I remember that people couldn't tell apart Dark Red from Brown.

And I remember that 90% of the crap certain people were concerned that would bring down the movie in the end (mostly the costume) is pretty much an afterthought now.

I wish I could say it was alot of fun, but all in all it's been a big experiment in tolorence for me, but hey... I never got suspended or banned like some of the people I was banging heads with here. And I do got to admit, I've seen a lot of people here just have personality breakdowns that would give Therapists itchy hands.

I guess it was kinda fun...
yeah, well, I´m kinda used to it on the boards. I know people here often make a huge noise out of things that either turn out to not be true or it ends up being a smaller thing in the movie or it ends up growing on them. What kept my calm was my confidence in Bryan Singer as a filmmaker and the fact he seemed to have a lot of passion for the character (more than for X-Men, really). I´m used to casting being initially met with distrust cuz people have their own favorites or people trashing the look of the suit or the film cuz of a bad first picture... I was fine with all that cuz I had the feeling that, as time passed, with tons cool footage coming from the movie, it would eventually settle down and people would be bought on the movie - except for some disappointed ones with their own reasons and the usual few ones who´ll keep nitpicking on the same thing for years and years... It has happened before, will happen again.

Ahhhh! 2 more days and superman will be back....

yunno...all the crazy drama over this and that for however long it's been will have meant nothing, zip, once those lights dim in the theater, popcorn and soda in hand, and the opening score blasts through the speakers. at least for me.

Then after seeing the pirates do all their pirating, I'll go across the hall to watch superman returns. :p gottcha ;)

I am farily new here, just joining last year. I've followed this movie since Ratner was signed on though. I didn't like Routh at first, seeing his first pic, didn't really convince me he could be supes. Then I saw the suit and thought we were in for something terrible. The more I saw it, and the more info we got on the film though, I started liking it a lot, and now I have the feeling that it will be my favorite superhero film to date. Of course I must wait and see, but its been a long time coming, and certainly fun posting here with everyone. I'll be seeing the movie Tuesday, which is....TOMMORROW. I can't believe its here. I don't think another movie will have me pumped up for over a year like this one did.

Its been almost a year since I signed up but sadly I wasnt here for all the casting wars and stuff.

Would have been funny to see though, but regardless theres a sense of satisfaction and triumph when Brandon Routh gets all these amazing reviews for his work in the film. Singer picked the right man.

I joined out of curiousity about Brandon after seeing the pictures of him, believing he was somehow related to Chris...so I wanted to check that out.

I dont really have much of a reason to post on SHH in 2007 sadly but all good things.... I probably wouldnt have done the hype/message board thing for any other hero who wasnt Superman, Supes was definately worth it and his return will be epic.

wait until you get back here. there'll be another deluge of crazy dramas post-film ;)

You know it. This'll be an interesting next couple of days. I'm planning to just sit back and watch like all you lurkers out there. hi!
