Thanks for the mention Kak...I remember getting frustrated with you in the past about the color of the red (brown to some people) and everything. But you've pretty much been a voice of reason and didn't stray too far from your ground. Both sides of the extreme (suithaters, suitlikers and everyone in between) have made this board a lot of fun. I'll miss the speculation...until the sequel that is.

I am quite the kaanji I must admit... but I remember the days when people would be spouting rumors about Vin Diesel as Luthor or when one dude, I can't remember his name now but I think it began with a Z... something like Zing or someone, who was a huge gigantic Wellingite and kept on saying he had "accurate insider information" that Welling had DEFN been cast and that all of us should just WAIT AND SEE and we'll all be biting our own asses cuz we would be all wrong cuz McG managed to cast Welling somehow

Then later in those couple of weeks, the whole I can't fly to Australia and shoot cuz i'm afraid of flying bullcrap story came up, McG exited then Singer stepped on board after some time... rather funny business

I wonder whatever happened to that guy... he was right on some of his insider accounts but jeez, i twas so funny seeing how he kept on saying WELLING HAS BEEN CAST... JUST WAIT AND SEE... then poof... out and gone like Cyclops... a far in the wind to quote Moriarty

As for what I was saying, actually, EVERYTHING I said was right on. And you're confusing me with many of the other posters that said Welling was in. My sources had him in the mix. I don't ever recall even ONCE saying on these boards that Welling had the role, and that everyone would rue the day they doubted me LOL

I talked about the fact he was close to getting it, because as I recall I had my own info that was pretty spot on, and others had info that matched up with mine AND they were also saying Welling had it. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

I will remind you that I was actually speaking to the guy on BT (their true insider) behind the scenes leading up to Routh being cast, and he was quite sure Welling wasn't getting it, so I seriously doubt I'd be stupid enough to put my neck on the line, knowing that piece of info.

And to be very specific, I was the first “Wellingite” to make an entire thread that said, he was up for the role, and that he’d never, EVER get it. That was actually the very first insider thread I ever created.

Well, its almost here. i would like people to use this thread to reflect on the good times and the bad times we have had over the year..on this journey we have taken together.I have made some good friends Showtime, cinne, hunter, you all know who you are.


so i would like to start with the Routh Saga..when he was announced,my god the place was in an uproar.. the arguments spilled on for months... and when he was finnally revealed in costume. well we all know how that turned out.


Add along and lets enoy what little time we have left until opening day.

it just seems like yesterday that I heard Brandon Routh was cast... well, it's been 2 great years, some good times, and some bad, but mostly good. It was great to debate everything from the Christ parallel to the way his spit curl is supposed to be with everyone here.

Now the movie is out a journey has ended and I feel kinda empty now, but the posters, friends and foe alike is what has made this board fun.

Suit wars were great. Everyone hated it at first except for a few, then mostly people just started going "This is what we are stuck with so i better start liking it" And I was the anti christ apparently.

I was here when it was Spiderman hype on a different screen name. I remember the "non organic shooters" wars. I also remember when the teaser came online, and when the decision was to remove the teaser as it featured the WTC after 9/11.

I saw McPartlin on that WB show he was on. The guy would hafve made a great Supes.

You know the best thing to come out of this film for me? The time spent on this forum discussing it... Singer's appointment, his "vague history," Routh vs Welling, the awful suit unveiling, and the fact that so many people refused to believe the kid was Supes' even when it was staring them in the face.

Wish I could have been more positive about this project, but at least I got the chance to debate the handling of one of the most important fictional icons of modern times with some interesting people, and got to express views which in some small way might inform future attempts to bring the character to life on the big screen.

ah, yes good times. indeed people were ready to tear singer a new one if he gave superman a child. I was bracing myself for the tearing but it never really came Like I expected it would. oh well.

Well are you planning to do it all over again? There's a whole new movie coming in 2009 to start up some more intense arguing. I guess you're officially retired from discussing this since it's already out and well HERE HE IS, THE NEW SUPERMAN. "Take it or leave it." I'll probably end up leaving it. Honestly I have no interest in rehashing donner's movies. Yeah I get the theme of returns and it's a cool theme, I saw it in Spider-man 2. I'm just personally still waiting for Lexcorp and stuff like that to finally be done in a superman movie.

Yeah I remember that. I'd say suit wars was the most fun I've had on this board. It was then that I got my first ever warning from C.Lee. I've never forgotten it. He was so pissed at me for saying what I said. It's all good now though... I think...
