Source: Michael Bay's Shoot For The Edit

Michael Bay is upset over Paramount Pictures' recent announcement that "Transformers" will only be released on the HD-DVD next-generation format.

He states that he wants "people to see my movies in the best formats possible," he writes on his official website forums. "For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks!"

Mr. Bay also states that he is so upset over Paramount's decision, that there will be "[n]o Transformers 2 for me!"

Quite possible. At least we got the first one.

But this is completely wrong, as it has already been stated that Spielberg's movies are the exception to the change. They stated that Speilberg movies will continue to be made for HD-DVD and Blu-ray.

meeeh.
thats so stupid. you really think that bay will not do TF2 because it is nto realesed in blu-ray? come on.

THERE WILL BE A TRANSFORMERS SEQUEL.

Michael Bay does not own the rights to Transformers. Just because he said he won't direct the sequel doesn't mean there won't be one. Quite the contrary.

IMO, this is good news. Give Spielberg full control now and we'll likely have a better movie.

If this is real which I dont think it is. Read the post again & it says "No Transformers 2 For Me". Key Words "For Me" & I highly doubt this is actually Michael Bay. Its more then likely just some Sony Fan / Playstation 3 Fan Pissed Off.

Your link is pretty much any other website on the web reporting on this right now.

oh okay...well then that kinda sux. i respect Bay for standing up to Paramount though. i said before...they're dumb for not wanting to go blu-ray. i try not to be biased but blu-ray is just better...there's no reason to go with lesser technology. hopefully Paramount will change their minds.

To hell with the whole Blu-Ray/HD-DVD garbage, I just hope we get a REGULAR DVD version, or someone at Paramount is gonna gut seriously hurt!

Once they wave a big check with lots of zeros under Bay's nose, he'll stop stomping his feet like a spoild kid and make the second one. And if he doesn't, they'll just find someone else to direct. With the amount of money this has made so far, there will definately be a second movie.

And I agree with Mal'Akai, there better be a regular DVD coming out since I don't have a HD tv or player.

>^..^<

Even if Michael Bay is pissed off about this. I would think he would be more professional about this & not this stupid ass out burst.

I wish you people would quit saying ignorant stuff like that :(

There's no way you're not going to get your downgrade fullscreen dvd two-pack at Wal-Mart, with the extra disc of nothing good.

for christ sake it is Bay. thsi is how he is .

I would be overjoyed if he doesn´t direct the sequel, but he probably will :csad:

Shame. He was perfect for the Transformers movie. No-one blows stuff up quite like Michael Bay.

The title of this thread is very misldeading. Thre will be a TF 2, only Bay at this point, says he won't be doing it.

This title should be named "ALLEGED: No Transformers 2 for Bay".

This may actually be a good thing. Spielberg will NOT walk away from a potential "Multi-billion dollar" franchise. So Spielberg will be involved.

You think he will bring Lucas in? /runs away

Yeah, it's on his website.

And yeah, it'll make some people happy.

And yeah, it's another thing for him to leverage during negotiations.

It's not like he already has other projects lined up, and given the initial fan backlash, I'm sure he's not thrilled about repeating the experience unless he gets more of a cut next time around :D

paramount really needs to give that man what he wants. especially that he has already filmed the first. nobody is going to be able to successfully follow behind that man which means no third(and speilberg is heartset on franchising). it's not that big of a deal for them to release the movie on both formats because it only means more money for them; not to mention blu-ray is kicking hd-dvd's ass anyway(thanks mostly to ps3).

If he does not direct the sequel over something this silly then he does not deserve to direct the sequel for being so childish.

yeah, standing up for what you believe in is very childish...:whatever: if Bay got pissed that they weren't going to include an extra feature in the special features that would be childish but i don't think this is. not very professional, but not childish either. picking exclusively HD-DVD alienates a lot of fans. i don't understand how you can look down on Michael Bay wanting EVERYONE to enjoy the movie...

anywho...i don't think Bay's decision not to direct Transformers 2 will sway Paramount. they probably got paid off by M$ so they probably won't listen pay much attention to Bay. also, a part of me thinks Bay said that as a way of getting out of directing Transformers 2 since fans are constantly bashing him. if Bay sticks to his word, then most likely he'll be replaced for the sequel.

Maybe they can get Speilberg in the Directors Chair. Thatd be a big **** you to Bay :woot:

Can you imagine a battle scene similar to the beginning of Saving Private Ryan between the Autobots, Decepticons, and humans? Insecticons buzzing around ripping stuff apart.

It is war between the Movie & Game Companies. It was one or the other & going by this out burst Bay is a Blu-Ray Fan Boy. He would not be complaining if Paramount sided with Blu-Ray & not HD-DVD. I dont feel sorry for Michael Bay once so ever for that reason. Hes only whining because the format he likes is not getting Transformers. If paramount sided with Blu-Ray he would not be whining if the HD-DVD owners were not getting this movie. In the end Bay is a Blu-Ray Fan Boy & paid off or not Paramount chosed a side. Michael Bay is not standing up for anything aside from the fact the format of his choice is not getting Transformers.
