Good thing him being 70 stops none of it and in fact encourages them. Hank being a crazy ass cynical and pessimistic old scientist makes a lot of sense actually and is vey inspired.

Him being 70 means he isn't going to be a major part of the storylines. He's not going to be on The Avengers team. He'll be in the background when Avengers 2 and 3 roll around.

Yes him being 70 and Scott Lang/Paul Rudd being the lead and main character does stop all that. It will be Lang getting involved if anything.

And Marvel is creating their own version of the Avengers in the MCU where he's not a member. I don't see this as a problem even if it doesn't completely match up with the comics.

People seriously need to get over this weird obsession with everything being exactly the way it was when they were 12. Get a dictionary, look up the word 'adaptation', memorize it, maybe take a few weeks personal time to adjust to this frightening new world, and move on.

He probably wasn't going to be on The Avengers team anyway. The movie roster is absolutely stuffed and is only getting fuller. There are a number of terrific characters that simply aren't going to ever make the cut, and their fans are always going to be miffed.

I would think the number of other characters who are being realized fantastically in Avengers would mitigate that somewhat for fans. The character getting a nice plump role here is certainly a nice consolation prize IMO. My man Dane Whitman will be lucky to get a 2 second cameo in a Phase 12 movie

Well, Tom Hanks has expressed interest in superhero stuff. He also said he was disapointed that he's never been offered to play a hero or villain, not ever.

The Guardians already has Glenn Close in the cast. I wonder when we will see Meryl Streep, Al Pacino and those people in this kind of films

He gets spotted, AIM kidnaps his daughter and the suit, he gets caught by SHIELD, they agree for him to use the original suit to infiltrate AIM and get the other suit back if they help save his daughter. In the end Pym reveals himself, talks about the work he did with Howard Stark, etc. etc., agrees to let Lang be the new Ant Man, continue Phase 3.

I just saw this. Holy cow. I love it. Never thought I'd have been so excited for an Ant-Man movie.

I really can't with the people saying they won't even see this movie outright before any footage is out. I mean.... Way to jump to conclusions here.

It's fine to be angry that they're doing something different than you expected, but give it a chance at least. The whole thing might surprise you. Douglas has made a career out of playing complex characters, so the biggest draw for me is seeing where he and Wright/Cornish take Hank. We're getting a different interpretation than EMH, which is a show I loved, and a Hank Pym I loved. Yet, it's Douglas' involvement in this movie that has me on the edge of my seat.

I just think it's silly to be so angry you'd admit to illegally watching a movie before the first promo drops.

1. I'm a little dissapointed that Hank Pym is going to be old.
2. I'm extremely excited to see how this plays out. Michael Douglas is such a great actor!

Please explain how you jumped to the wild-ass conclusion that being 70 precludes one from joining The Avengers.

There is nothing....nothing in Hank Pym's powerset, skillset, or perceived personality that requires him to be a 30something year old man.

Hank Pym is a scientist with a suit that allows him to shrink to microscopic size or grow to the size of a skyscraper, and a helmet that lets him talk to ants. He dates a girl named Janet Van Dyne, and he is a member of The Avengers.

Again, *please* explain how "age 70" automatically negates any of the previous paragraph.

This is a huge fetch, I love that they're willing to think outside the box. Just wondering since they'll show young Hank in the beginning of the movie but is that it or will there be more flashbacks during the course of the movie?
