Homecoming Michael Giacchino is the Composer for Spider-Man: Homecoming

Exactly, I'd prefer a fresh new face to the MCU as to avoid any comparisons to other tracks in MCU films.

I'm starting to become partial to Ludwig Goransson. Underrated and not a huge name but he's got some good stuff.

i have a feeling Ludwig's gonna be busy with Black Panther...

Whoever does the score for this movie, I think it should be someone who is able to create a bouncy, upbeat type score.

If I may ask, why does everyone want Giacchino?

Because his music is fantastic and he has quite the range. Listening to his previous work I bet he could make a fantastic Spider-Man score.

He's one of my favourite composers ever! So yeah him doing Spider-Man would be massive for me.

I was thinking that too, but considering he's worked with Donald Glover on his albums before he might put in a word for him or something. Who knows. I wanna see someone like him that no one ever mentions in this conversation get the job. Just hope we get a clear theme that actually carries on throughout the series.

He's one of the best composers working currently, imho. Giacchino was actually my preference for The Avengers. I still wouldn't have mind if he was hired for A:IW Pt. 1 & 2 instead, but Doctor Strange will do. Looking forward to what he'll come up with for that one. And I'm not against him scoring S-M:HC as well but I have a feeling they'll hire someone else instead.

If Silverstri doesn't return for Avengers. He has an upbeat style that would suit this perfectly.

But I would prefer someone completely new. John Ottman is one example. His Fantastic Four score was a perfect example of his superhero experience.

I want someone new, someone inspiring. Someone who will give us special main theme and define Spider-Man. Old geezers can go *** themselves.

Because his music is awesome, I particularly love his score for The Incredibles and Mission Impossible 3&4 but he has a lot of range, he fits Spidey's upbeat and fun universe.

I love Henry Jackman and Steve Jablonsky but their styles don't fit Spider-Man because they're much better at scoring action driven movies with an epic feel. They should be making the Infinity War movies but oh well Marvel is settling with Alan Silvestri's cheesy music :whatever:

Yeah, loved Incredibles and Dawn of the Apes, dude has range. I could see him doing good with upbeat moments and dramatic moments.

Silvestri shouldn't be scoring a movie like Infinity War imo, Jablonsky/Jackman would've been perfect. IW is going to be a darker and more serious MCU movie and he's just going to bring camp.

:funny:

Jablonsky and jackman can be some of the most generic sounding composers. I'm glad they brought back Silvestri. He gave the avengers a theme.

Kinda like how Jablonsky gave the Transformers franchise the iconic autobots theme or Jackman's Cap theme from TWS. Lmao, theme motifs aren't exclusive to Silvetri.

Silvestri's Avengers theme is iconic as far as I'm concerned.

I don't remember either of those but I remember both avengers and BTTF's themes. Different strokes I guess:shrug:

This. They chose fresh actors, fresh producers, and a fresh director. All people with very small film work up until this point. Why not do the same with the composer?

What if Marvel hired Danny Elfman again? Or do you think it's better to have a new composer?

Honestly I never considered Elfman ever returning to score another Spidey adventure post Raimi, however to this day it bothers me that he never returned for S-M3 due to a falling out between him and Raimi on S-M2. I really would’ve love to have heard what he could’ve came up for S-M3. I thought Young’s score (though decent) wasn’t consistent with Elfman’s approach on the previous two. In fact it’s my least favorite of all 5 S-M scores. I'd be interested in seeing Elfman take a crack at another superhero whose unique from the previous superheroes he's scored in the past.

I’m open to new blood or a composer who doesn’t have a superhero movie on their resume to score S-M:HC. I’m probably in the minority who enjoys Elfman’s, Horner’s, and Zimmer’s S-M scores equally. Each of them took different musical approaches while still managing to capture the essence of the character(s) and their stories. Hopefully whoever scores Homecoming will rival them.

Agreed.

I hope they keep far away from Jablonsky. He was Webb's original choice before hiring Zimmer for TAS-M2. Thankfully Age Of Extinction prevented him from ever scoring TAS-M2. We dodged a bullet on that one. And would've missed out on one of my favorite superhero scores from this decade.

Silvestri's Avengers score didn't come off campy to me. Sure it could've been better. It seemed like it was leftovers of his GI Joe and A-Team scores. As well as being pretty average Silvestri score but it still had it's moments, imo. I'm hoping A:IW Pt.1&2 will be a vast improvement though.

As opposed to the music in the MCU? lol and in WHAT WORLD is this theme generic:

[YT]HVJGh51wR7k[/YT]

Let's remember he also gave us Magneto's fantastic theme from First Class:

[YT]frqYK1EZ3O0[/YT]

Don't expect anything even remotely as great for Thanos as long as Silvestri is making the music.

What you love about The Avengers "theme" is the 20 second part at the end, but its not really a theme. The only good theme Silvestri made in the MCU is the Captain America March, he was perfect for the cheesy uplifting tone of that movie but not for the Infinity War movies.

I don't remember either of those but I remember both avengers and BTTF's themes. Different strokes I guess:shrug:

Well the Transformers theme has over 30 Million views on Youtube so I'm sure at least someone remembers it
