I love the Doctor Strange score.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming suite sounds OK, but I will withhold judgment until I see the film.
I never found the score for Amazing Spider-Man particularly memorable like I did with the Elfman score.
I definitely think Giacchino's getting overworked right now and his work is suffering as a result. I mean he does a good job and in high demand.
But again, with Doctor Strange where was all that cool weirdness for the music in the rest of the film? We could've used more of those weird strings and guitar riffs and synths and such. It's a movie about magic and the mystic arts. Mind-bending realities and the multiverse. Go nuts.

I will say, I wore out my Fellowship of the Ring CD soundtrack well before the movie came out and had already loved the music before I saw the film. But that film had good identifiable themes. You're right about waiting until the film comes out. It's funny how certain scores can grow on you, especially when you hear it in context.
It's sorta like, when I first heard 'The Force Awakens' score, I was a little disappointed. But after seeing the film a few times, and just listening to the score when I'm driving, when I hear Kylo Ren's or Rey's theme, I can't help it to associate those bits of music them now. Especially in the 'The Last Jedi' teaser.

Anyone knows when is the OST going to be avaliable?
Amazon and iTunes said July 7, last I saw.
dang it, i hoped to get a listen previous to the movie like TASM 2
Two tracks are available now.
But it may come sooner. I remember the soundtrack for Broadchurch season 3 was set for mid-April and it surprised me by coming at the beginning instead.
Those two tracks were ok...i mean i can see how the Spidey theme is going to be and some of the vulture, but i hope i can listen to more of the score to get a feel of the movie.
So far it seems lighthearted and innocent, but nothing that i could call heroic theme
Apparently his War for the Planet of the Apes score might get him an oscar nod.
Between this and Doctor Strange why does he keep putting out "meh to solid" scores for cbm.

Doctor Strange had a great score
like what I've heard from giacchino so far, but I gotta say, this fan made theme is amazeballs
