He has also scored the awful movies Beverly Hills Chihuahua, The Smurfs and its sequel. (But hey again! Bryan Tyler did a great score for Dragonball Evolution, and Elliot Goldenthal's work for Batman and Robin was the only good thing in that damn awful movie, imo).

It's possible. Though today's themes on big films are really not as memorible then say indy, star wars, superman.

I'm not sure, to be honest. Elfman's theme may not be as iconic as Superman - what is?, but for me it's pretty close, and everything a Spider-Man theme should be. I can hum it, for starters.

But indeed, a new theme has every chance of being great. I liked what Horner and Zimmer brought to the table.

I personally didn't like any of TASM 1 or 2's music except maybe the opening song from 2. I'm actually starting to think Alan Silvestri would be a great choice since he has an old school sweeping style to his music.
