MICHAEL KEATON RETURNS (or at least in discussion) AS BATMAN

holy s***! link? Bales my favorite, so my head will explode if that happens.

Whether its Keaton, Bale, or both, I can't help but to be hyped.

I wonder how different the suit will look? I don't think it will be exactly like returns. I think it will change mostly for merchandising reasons.

I'm expecting the suit to retain elements from 1989 and Returns, but be more modern.
Ditto on both these. I hope they keep the armoured look of the Returns suit (but not going as far as the TDKReturns/BvS suit)

Some scoopers on twitter hinting towards Bale now... Next few weeks will be interesting.
Up till less than a week ago I'd have said 'Believe it when I see it' - exactly the same thing I'd have said about Keaton! But now? Who knows...

I don't think Bale would do it but who knows? Money talks.

Supposedly, Bale is their backup plan in the "very unlikely" event things with Keaton fall through. I ain't buying it though, as I just can't see Bale ever returning without Nolan. I do think Keaton would return without Burton before Bale without Nolan.

Having both 89 and 92 in one sounds good. But I don't want it too modernized.
It should still be sculptured so he has to move his whole body to look sideways. THAT'S how Burtonverse Batman is. We can't go away from that.

Then it should be the same ears. I hoped we could get long ears again with Batfleck but they were shorter than ever and I disliked that very much. It looked bad.
Burtonverse Bat has loong pointy ears :applaud

Oh, where did you get that? :wow:

Don't know what I think about it. Surely cool, but not as cool as Keaton.
Since Balebat "retired", I think Flash would somehow travel in time to before Bane showed up in Gotham. And then he risk changing the future. Perhaps Balebat prevented things to happen, and didn't need to retire. But it won't be popular with the audience to "undo" TDKR, and not with Nolan either.

links?

I think Bale wouldn't want to revisit something that he is happy with...

I can totally see Michel Cain, Morgan Freeman and Joseph Gordon Levitt coming back..

Which - coincidentally is how I wanted the nolanverse to continue post MOS. They already alluded to it possibly being set in that world, with the Wayne Ind. log on the satellite.

John Blake having the keys to the cave and in the years after TDKR, setting up the batfamily - knowing he couldn't do it alone - almost like a batman inc. situation where nightwing, Batwoman etc patrol Gotham. We have Alfred assisting, with Fox being hands on with tools, equipment etc.

That way the legend and spirit of Bale-man lives on with Sueprman, WW AM etc and left the door open for Bale to cameo, come back if it warranted it, which would have broken all kinds of records.

Thing is, if Bale came back even for a cameo, it wouldn't have the impact because the character would have been flogged to death.

Yes, I can't see Bale coming back and messing with anything from what is regarded as arguably the greatest CB trilogy, containing arguably the best CB movie, and risking tarnishing that legacy.

This is pretty much how i see it.

I hope the new Bat suit will pay homage to the Beyond suit. I can see Keaton’s new suit helping him fight, increased his strength and durability plus new weapons are always a plus since we didn’t see Bales version with gadgets and technology

Why not the Burtonverse suit? It's THIS Batman we're going to see. Not anything else

I actually did a design I wanted to a cosplay of years ago that was a Burton (and hint of Schumacher)

Much rather see JGL than Bale. We’ve seen his Old Bruce. It occurs to me that if they’re actually doing Batman Beyond, it has to be in the future, doesn’t it? So will Flash travel to the future? Or are they just planning on using the mentor element of Beyond?

"Bale isn't in Flash (or Thomas Wayne anymore) nor is Affleck, right now it's Keaton if everything works out.

A podcast tried to guess what people meant with Bale gifs over the last few days, and they guessed wrong."

It sounds like they plan to ask Bale as a backup but he likely won't, because, A: He was offered $50M to return for BvS and declined out of respect for Nolan not to mention his arc wrapped perfectly in his trilogy, so I don't think it's likely he'd say yes to Flashpoint, B: He's already signed to Thor which comes out a few months before Flash, and C: Bale's Batman going from Nolan's realistic world to suddenly becoming a cross dimensional time jumping mentor for Flash how would this even work?

I would assume just the mentor element.

Or, in Keaton's universe they're already in the Batman Beyond timeline and he brings the tech along with him to the main universe.

Or, once in the main universe Keaton takes Kryptonian tech to develop a Beyond-style suit.

Lots of possibilities.

How will the yellow chest symbol on classic Burtonverse suit work today?
Later incarnations didn't have it.

Didn't they pull up with a truck full cash for Bale to do BvS and he still said no? I highly doubt Bale would do Batman again without Nolan.

It will still be beautiful. The yellow oval is going to make a triumphant return.

I hope there's not much changed to the look of the suit, just modified so the actor and stunt person can actually look like they can move in it.

Whether it would normally work today or not, I think it would certainly work on Keaton. Returns Bat-emblem, not 89! :argh:

Bale has already made comments that sounded like he wished he was still doing Batman back during BvS. I'm not counting him out completely.

I'm not. I'll just be happy if we get that Beyond movie out of this with Keaton. Flashpoint with Keaton probably suiting up is neat and all, but what could happen after that is much more interesting. Whether it be a Beyond/Beyond-like film or the less appealing to me Returns sequel where Keaton is still doing his Batman thang. The least appealing thing to me would be Keaton just being in Justice League 2 on active duty or just being the Nick Fury equivalent with no Bat-legacy characters involved.
