Recommend a Clive Barker book to me, I'm interested in checking him out.

Imajica,it's a pretty f'n long,mystical journey.
The Damnation Game,I'm rereading it. It had some vivid images I want to relive. :O
The Thief of Always,it was illustrated by Clive and it's a quick read,it's a dark children's book.

The Great Secret and Show and Everville are part of a trilogy that I've been waiting a long time for him to finish.

I really loved Weaveworld, great fantasy story, god I need to reread that too.

Also,my sig links to a site with his books and movies.

I read a little summary for the Damnnation Game, and that I gotta say, really has me interested. Particullary the bit about reanimated corpse assassians and love making ghosts. :o

I would recommend starting with:

The Books of Blood

Cabal (with the short story Lord of Illusions)

The Hellbound Heart

...The Midnight Picture Show plans for the Films of Blood have been backed, Variety reported in May 2005, by finance from Lakeshore Entertainment and distribution by Lion's Gate for the first movie - The Midnight Meat Train. Jeff Buhler has adapted the story which has now been 'polished' by Barker and was originally scheduled to be directed by Patrick Tatopoulous (who previously worked with Clive on design concepts for Saint Sinner. Filming, in New York and Montreal, was originally scheduled to begin on the 17th October 2005.

A revised start date of the summer of 2006 was then disrupted, with Fangoria reporting that Tatopoulous had pulled out of directing Midnight Meat Train, citing (in Fangoria's words) 'a busy schedule and other factors'...

Dread Central have now exclusively reported that Ryuhei Kitamura will be taking over as director, saving this project from further stalling. The teaser poster suggests that the "Meat" will remain in the title, despite earlier reports of a shortening to "The Midnight Train".

December 2006 sees Variety report that Bradley Cooper has been cast, clearly impressing producers enough to be toplined.
Watch out for more news ahead of the planned March 2007 shoot...

Midnight Meat Train Synopsis, Photo!
Source: Ryan Rotten
April 5, 2007

ShockTillYouDrop.com (CS' horror site arriving soon!) has been provided with a behind-the-scenes look, and synopsis, from Clive Barker's long-awaited adaptation of Midnight Meat Train. Culled from his "Books of Blood" collection, MMT has been prepped for the screen by writer Jeff Buhler and director Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus). The film stars Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers), Vinnie Jones (X2: X-Men United), Brooke Shields ("Nip/Tuck"), Leslie Bibb ("Talladega Nights"), Roger Bart (Hostel: Part II), Peter Jacobson (Good Night, And Good Luck.) and Barbara Eve Harris ("Prison Break").

Here's the synopsis and the photo:

Next stop, death.

When his latest body of work – provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants -- earns struggling photographer Leon Kaufman (Bradley Cooper) interest from a prominent art gallerist (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space.

Believing he's finally on track for success, Leon's obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters -- ultimately butchering them in the most gruesome ways imaginable.

With his concerned girlfriend Maya (Leslie Bibb) fearing for his life, Leon's relentless fascination with Mahogany lures him further and further into the bowels of the subways and ultimately into an abyss of pure evil – inadvertently pulling Maya right along with him.
