Why, in this era of superhero and cartoon adaptions, hasn't there been a live-action or CGI Mighty Mouse movie?

It's the role Jon Hamm was born to play.

No thanks..

There was talk of a cgi one a few years ago if I remember rightly but it never got off the ground... there were a couple cgi test images done which you could probably Google..

So because they poorly adapted one film you don't want another?

That makes no sense to me. That is akin to telling me that Spider-Man will suck because I hated the Fantastic Four.

I couldn't find the Mighty Mouse cgi shots but I do remember there being a couple, I think one of them, he was holding something up.

I did find this though, CGI test footage for Bucky O'Hare :awesome:

One film? Really?

Is there one old cartoon-to-CGI movie that has actually worked? I remember Scooby-Doo, Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Underdog, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Gardfield, and I cannot remember one good movie based on an old cartoon. On the other hand we have a number of superhero movies that have actually worked.

El Payaso is right. What's weird is that all these movie felt like they were directed by the same guy. They all eliminate the specific humor from each respective cartoon and place in topical, broad humor instead.

I think a Mighty Mouse movie would have to be like a Pixar movie, CG animated and based in a world of cartoon animals(I haven't seen em since i was wee, I only recall mice and cats being in that world).
Not like one of those, 'cartoon character visits real world through a portal', or like Scooby doo, where they were set in our world in the first place.
I was really into the old cartoons, got a Mighty Mouse annual for Christmas one year.

Transformers may not have had a really great movie so far but they have been the biggest & most successful cartoon to live action films to date.

Your dislike of this movie makes me want to watch it.

i am in the minority, but i really liked Underdog. You can only do so much with it. It had dogs and humans walking around the same size as humans.

this "grounded" it...and it was humorous.

i don't think it was supposed to be a "blockbuster"

These are the most recent ones they had. John Woo was on board actually.

Mighty Mouse was one of my childhood favorites. I've never had an interest in a movie, could be good.

Cartoon character / superhero / animal... just that resulted horribly before. I don't want to see a repeat of that.
