Mission: Impossible 3

Just to add another element in this movie Abrams and co. blatantly rehashed from Alias:

Closing musical epilogue at the heroes' HQ, in slow motion, no audible dialogue.

It sort of reminds me of how Ed Zwick basically rehashed all his scenes from GLORY in THE LAST SAMURAI

Good choice of homage to what made him:confused:  your just being nitpicky now

There's a difference between a dull rehash and a good homage.

Because there's nothing special or ground-breaking about it. It's just, all the characters being in slow motion with some pop-music in the background.

An homage would be the hospital scene from Spider-man 2.

LOL oh dear, all directors have certain stylistic tocuhes they like,he uses it on LOST as well,it's one of his trademarks

I just thought it was kind of cheap to rehash himself like that.

And it just drove home to me more that this is just a big budget Alias episode starring Tom Cruise since it has the same basic set-up and ENDING as Alias does.

i saw the movie last night with my girlfriend. i didnt really care much for it.
she said the humpty dumpty line was dumb.

it seemed more dangerous then the first two films but the danger was stressing it wasn't like excitement that a summer film should bring.

the acting was bad. i wont buy this one dvd.

Again his style which he will continue to use no doubt

God this movie screamed ALIAS from the beginning. The way they started off in mid-mission then lead up to it, and just about half of everything they did, was pulled/inspired from something off Alias. And that is why I freakin loved this movie, I am an Alias ****e....:(

And,, Tom Cruise can run!

If he makes a new Star Trek movie and it ends same way . . . oh boy.

Just got back from seeing it (two days after I originally intended) and overall I liked it. JJ Abrams' directorial feature debut was nothing but assuring that we're going to be seeing great things from this guy in the future. The only problem this film had was Tom Cruise, not that his performance was bad or anything, but it's just become kind of boring to watch him for me. I understand that some people bring to the theater the baggage that is his crazy scientology antics of the last year or so, but I'm not one of them. I felt that cinematic life and real life should be kept quite seperate. Alas, I was bored by him from the very first shot. Even though it was a gripping film with some amazing action/adventure sequences and a truly terrific supporting cast, I feel that perhaps Tom Cruise has worn out his welcome on the screen.

I loved that Ethan Hunt wasn't perfect this time around. He has failures, vulnerable moments, the whole nine.

Yeah, there were definitely a lot of Alias-isms (The beginning before the opening sequence, Ethan meeting Musgrave at the 7-11, the party with friends, the music, etc.), but I thought it fit well. And in the grand scheme of things, Alias probably wouldn't have been what it was withouta show like Mission: Impossible to blaze a trail.

Thankfully more of a team effort this time around, and Maggie Q, love her!! Ethan's talks with Luther were great. And I liked that
we never really find out what the Rabbit's Foot is. All that matters is keeping it from Davian. And I was surprised Keri Russell's character died period, let only so quickly! The look on her face when the charge went off was sickening!

Overall, a good time at the movies.

My guess as to what the
Rabbit's Foot
is:

a really powerful nuke
.

Monyahan looked quite skanky towards the end in the final battle, but it was a good kind of skanky. And Keri Russell's face after the you-know-what = best avatar ever.

I tried watching Lost and Alias but just didn't get into it but I loved MI3. And Star Trek?? Never got into that either...haha.

I don't wanna hear that bull****, I wanna hear that official ****, Kanye and that Twista ****. :o

Simon Pegg was awesome though. :o

"I'm going to lose my citizenship if this thing goes **** up." :o

Julia trying to revive Ethan? that was a pretty obvious reference...

Yeah, that played out nearly identically to Charlies run-in on Lost.
