I'm glad to hear JJ and Tom will be working on a fourth film. Hopefully the idea they came up with is awsome!

I'm exastic at this news. I love 1 and 3. If Abrams is producing, then De Palma should come back to direct!

The sad thing is De Palma is only half the director he used to be years ago. If he directs the next film, there's a high chance it will be lackluster/underwhelming or flat out bad.

I only like MI3. Woo's one was really painful.

MI3 was pretty good.

Hopefully they bring back the kick ass theme.

I loved MI3.

Hopefully Abrams returns to direct and Michael Giacchino returns to do the score.

I know this is just a correspondent's opinion from Aintitcoolnews but:

Right now, Abrams is busy getting the next STAR TREK ready for production, while Cruise is signed for an untitled James Mangold drama at 20th Century Fox and David Cronenberg's THE MATARESE CIRCLE for MGM (which will co-star Denzel Washington). In other words, unless one or two of Cruise's projects falls apart over the next few months ('cuz STAR TREK is a go picture), 2011 sounds like a pipe dream.

It's also a question mark as to whether or not Cruise will play Ethan Hunt again. All that was announced that was he and Abrams are producing and a targeted release date.

Wasn't Brad Pitt the guy who was supposed to take over the franchise a couple of years ago?

Abrams is only on as a producer right now because Cruise asked him....Those were Abrams words in a previous article....so that leads me to believe Cruise has alot of control over the project right now.

Yeah, the only think definite right now is them both involed as producers. Even if Cruise is in the film, the suggestion is that he'll be in a smaller role as a mentor to a new ensemble team. Which I'd actually prefer. I'd love to see a new team for the next film.

I saw the 3rd one not too long ago. It was pretty decent. I liked Phillip Seymour Hoffman. I also loved the end where I thought he killed Michelle Monaygan's character. Some good twists at the end. Hopefully this one has more great action. The scene on the bridge was awesome in part 3.

Anyone else think this is gonna not do so well? Think about it, 2011 has an assload of big films coming out. But I guess it depends where it's places.

I think Abrams should concentrate on Trek and a Cloverfield sequel.

Abrams needs to direct the ST sequel. That I'm most concerned about at this moment. As to whether this gets actually done, I don't really care.

Im up for MI:4, but what if its a success and they want to do 5 and 6, would they still call them MI:5 & MI:6???

I can't wait. I really like M:I:III, and I find J.J Abrams to be awesome. I'm very curious about the director, because I can't see J.J directing this and another Star Trek. Maybe he'll get another one of his colleagues to do it like with Cloverfield.

it's all gonna be Tom Cruise centered so :o:o
