I saw this in the previews with Transformers: DOTM, kick ass trailer. I'm surprised Tom is back I thought he said he was done after MI:III also is Ving Rhames back as Luther Stickell ?

I've seen the trailer several times now, I think the movie is looking very cool, the action is fantastic and I like the fact the whole IMF team are being hung out to dry by the President, it's not just Ethan's career/life on the line in terms of the story.

I think the music works well with the trailer and I've no issues with the editing. There are a couple of shots in there that remind me of other big action movies but overall I think Brad Bird has his own flair all over the footage.

to me it looks like he dies. i mean there are 3 shots of him in a row from the running scene.
1. he runs on the roof
2. he flies backwards from the roof to the ground shooting
3. another closeup right before impact on the street..

i know it a trailer, cut from tiny bits of the movie but how on earth should he survive that ?

I've been wondering about this as well, it's one of the best moneyshots in the trailer but how he survives will be interesting to see.

I've been wondering about this as well, it's one of the best moneyshots in the trailer but how he survives will be interesting to see.

oh c'mon !?!?! Be fair !!!!! There was definitely some "strolling" [in that $3,000 leather hooded jacket] and some "standing still" & "possible drowning" in there !

There are a couple of shots in there that remind me of other big action movies but overall I think Brad Bird has his own flair all over the footage.

So I just saw Mission Impossible 3 again and never has there been an action movie so simultaneously awesome and depressing. I don't think many action heroes get as kicked around as Ethan Hunt does. Not to mention the psychological horror of his wife in mortal danger and seemingly everyone out to get him and then he gets a bomb planted in his head. Enhanced by Cruise's expressions of pure terror and his panicky flailing run

I get what you mean. It's fairly dark and gritty for a summer action film.

It's not a particular shot, I mean I can see influences from various movies/directors in most trailers for action movies and truth is most directors influence when it comes to the composition of shots in action sequences, can be traced back to 4 directors. It's more the overall aesthetic of the footage that feels like it's own animal IMO.

I don't think audiences would want to see a movie franchise with a character that could be a traitor That is if Jenner does take over from Tom. They would want to keep him likeable if they expect him to carry this franchise after Tom

Trailer cliche? That trailer was kick ass. probably one of if not the best trailer I've seen this year. I'm ****ing excited for this movie.
