Mohinders inner Beast (Spoilers)

When I was watching the first two episodes, I think its the second one were he was crawling on the walls I honestly kept think of the movie The Fly. When he was showing Maya what he could do and when he went to the bathroom at night and stuff was coming off of his back, it was like they took that scene directly from The Fly. Did anyone else notice this, or am I the only one???

Its kindof funny to me that you titled this thread "inner Beast" because I feel that Heroes has crossed into X-men territory again with Mohinder and wonder if anyone else made the same comparison. Mohinder's story seems to mirror that or Hank McCoy's, the only difference is that McCoy was looking for a cure and Mohinder was looking for a way to give powers. They were both the scientist characters of their respective "teams" at the time and if what we saw from "The Butterfly Effect" is any indication, when both tried to experiment on themselves, they turned into further evolved creatures.

Also, there's been some fan speculating that Mohinder might actually be turning into a cockroach, ironically. Did you see the way he recoiled once he turned the light on in the bathroom?

Speaking of, what was the deal with the cockroach(es) in Season 1 that kept popping up?

I am just watching it and uh, am I the only one who saw the STRONG resemblance that beginning scene with him climbing on the wall had to the SAME scene in The Fly? (Jeff Goldblum)

Edit: Wrote this before I saw the second page. Guess I'm not alone! :cwink:

I get the strong feeling that, of course, MohinDUH! as Brundlefly is not going to be permanent. The whole business of him injecting himself with the serum and his behavior afterwards made me think of some guy who was high on drugs. Which makes sense because, after all, the serum is based on adrenaline from someone with powers, which could eventually disapate. And I think his "peeling skin" bit are a side-effect and the first sign that his powers are deterorating. In other words, his serum may depose powers to anyone, but only for a short time.

So I imagine that, in Future Peter's future where he talks about "powers, the greed, the war" is that normal people use this power booster serum to give them a quick fix, either as a recreational drug or for military applications, and the only way to make more of the serum is to extract it from people who naturally have the powers, hence Future Peter's comments about people like himself being hunted and forced to hide.

I don't think they will go all the way with this thing and mohinder will find a way to reverse it before its too late.

I hated the way in which it was done. The logic was really silly. "Oh, fear! That must be what does it!" Is Hiro afraid when he stops time? Is Matt afraid when he starts hearing voices out of the blue without trying? Would Clair be afraid when if she were to get shot in her sleep? No, but she'd still heal.

And then, like 5 seconds later, BOOM Jekyll and Hyde, completely, which I may have liked very much had Mohinder not become annoying as well as overly intellectual, and the fact that that position has been taken by Nikki/Jessica/Tracy/whatever the hell she's calling herself these days.

And giving him essentially spider-powers? WTF?

I think it would be awesome if he found out that his superstrength was actually caused by billions of scaley crawly things living underneath his skin, and he exploded when he got mad, literally. Bursting into scorpions.

What a shame. He was once one of my favorite characters... but now he's just too arrogant to bear.

he got some of that hot south american ass

The similarities to 'The Fly' are extremely obvious, and I hope the writers go another way in having Mohinder actually transform into a disgusting fly-man. They have to have known that the heroes viewing audience is smarter than to try to rip off what some would call a classic from the 80's.

The number one thing that attracted me to Heroes was that it was different than anything I had seen before on TV. Sure they borrowed some stuff from comic books and other pop culture but I considered that more of an homage. I really hope that the writers will be better than to steal scene by scene a movie from the eighties.

That being said, the whole marketing plan going up to this season showed that our 'heroes' could be villains. I'm wondering if this formula brings out a much darker side in Dr. Suresh. Could be good for his character...

is it just me or were those snake scales n his back, along with the sound of a rattlers tail shaking

Fear was not the exlusive reason for making power work. Fear among other things can cause a rush in adrenaline. if you remember he asked maya if her power activates when she is afraid and/or angry. there are quite a few emotions that can bring about a rush of adrenaline. fear, anger, hatred, intense passion etc....fear just happens to be Maya's

I'm afraid they're killing his character, I've always liked him and defended him, but let's be honest, he wasn't a fan favorite before, and now, with all this dumb storyline, it looks like all his common sense went away, his character seems rushed, and just like someone mentioned if before, I think this is his one foot in the grave.

I'm Surprised not a lot of people have brought this up but is this storyline reminding anybody about Curt Connors? It's True it's somewhat different in the Spider-man Comics Connor used Lizard DNA to repair his arm. In Heroes Mohinder uses another persons special powers and injects himself with the DNA. Now he is turning into some kind of animal monster whatever. I think it could be a interesting to see where they go with this.

Oh thats true, I never looked at it like that.

I saw it as a rip off, of the fly movie, the whole scene with him showing off his power and the ploughing Maya shortly after, i was like this sooooo the fly!

i'm telling you guys hes gonna be a rattle-snake man. i'm 80/20 percent sure of this one

Could he be changing into Uluru? From that comic from the first season? just a thought.
