Mom Chews On Infant's Brain: 'I didn't mean to do it!'

I wanted to make a joke to lighten the mood but I'm not up to it.

The story is sick. Someone with a recent history of psychiatric hospitalization who has an infant should be subject to mandatory monitoring by social services. Apparently the father also claimed to be schizophrenic which would lead me to believe that social services, after investigation, would determine that the child should be in someone else care before stuff like this has a chance to happen.

Is schizophrenia something that can be passed on genetically? Because it sounds like both the parents have it...and if that's the case I wonder if the baby would've even had a chance to grow up without developing the illness himself?

I've heard that it is genetic, but I think that is more speculation than proof.

I think the rules for community forum threads should say, if Wiseman can't make a joke out of the topic without offending everyone, then the thread shouldn't be made

PM me a joke that would offend.

You think you've heard it all and then some random news story can shock the hell out of you.

what's with parents eating parts of their kids? there was that one story of a dad eating his son's eye, a while ago...

I'd rather be decapitated as a baby then have to live life with both my parents going in and out of the psych ward. Not to mention what will become of me, from having loons for parents. In all likehood I'll end up as bonkers as them.

Yeah, but getting decapitated is hardly the best alternative. There are other ways to go. Like being put up for adoption...

Yeah. Adoption or...you know...

Her sister takes her?

Yeah, decapitate it! Screw adoption!

My...goodness. How appalling. I'm not a squeamish person but this **** is just vile to the extreme. This woman should be burned alive.

I really hope no one comes in here trying to defend this ***** on account of her being mentally ill...

I find this story interesting. Morally disgusting, but interesting nonetheless.

Oh, and if you can't make a joke about something, you're just not trying hard enough.

Mentally ill or not...YOU DON'T CHOP YOUR ****ING BABIES HEAD OFF AND PROCEED TO EAT IT'S TOES AND BRAIN!!!!!!

This is truly evil beyond normal human capacity to imagine. It is one of the most horrendous stories I have ever read.

The baby should have been taken from the mom, in and out of the psychiatric ward...thats not a stable enviroment

She was severely mentally ill and not sufficiently treated for it. If she was sane and had done this, that would be one thing. But the people who are really at fault here are social services for not seeing to it that she undergo the proper monitoring process and required treatment that severely mentally ill parents should get.

Untreated schizophrenics live perpetually in a fractured, terrified state of mind where their concept of reality and normal cognitive faculties cease to exist; if left untreated for an extended period of time the voices in their head don't go away. Every second of every day they hear the voices of people they can't see, and the constant fear of these voices leads to a total loss of rational human thought. Point being? They don't know what's real anymore. In fact, unreality becomes real. She had no concept of what was really happening until after the act when she entered a brief state of lucidity. For God's sake, she wasn't a sociopath. She was severely ill in ways that prohibited rational thought.
