Monkey Attack!!!!

Exactly....because every CT cop carries around large animal tranqs with them....

The monkey wasn't infected with a rage virus was it? I swear I heard an emergency broadcast, something about random acts of violence.

 God, I hate zombie movies. Some people just never get the metaphor in them.

I can't believe the stupidity of some people.
1st of all: Its a frickin ape. Not a human being. So regardless of how it acts, IT WILL NEVER BE A HUMAN AND CAN BE EXPECTED TO REVERT BACK TO ITS "ANIMAL" INSTINCTS.
I agree with this, chimpanzees should not be kept as "pets" by just anybody. I'm sure some kind of law was broken there. In fact, here's a quote from the Yahoo article:

"Connecticut law requires primates weighing more than 50 pounds to be registered with the state. But state Department of Environmental Protection spokesman Dennis Schain said Herold's chimp was exempted because it did not appear to present a public health risk and was owned before the registration requirement began."

2nd: Why the heck was it shot? Umm tranquilizers are not a new invention. Another senseless death.
The police officer who shot the animal was trapped in his squad car. After the attack the chimpanzee ran away. When he came back, he tried to attack several police officers. They could have opened fire then, but they didn't. They retreated to their squad cars. Only after the chimp opened one of the squad cars and attempted to attack an officer did the cornered officer fire shots to defend his own life.

Also, it's not even clear what injuries killed the chimpanzee. Before officers could arrive the owner of the chimp had stabbed it several times with a butcher knife and beat it with a shovel in an attempt to stop it from attacking the defenseless woman. These injuries no doubt contributed to the death of the chimpanzee, but they also probably helped save the woman's life.

3rd: F#@%in Xanax?!? Really? You give an animal Xanax and are surprised when there are side effects. Wow.
The owner of the chimp is now denying that she gave it Xanax. [link]

All of this could've been avoided. Forget the woman, the chimp is the real victim here.
Yes, all of this should have been avoided. But that doesn't make the woman who was attacked any less of a victim and it's certainly no reason to "forget" her. She did nothing to provoke the attack, and it's not her fault the chimpanzee was being kept illegally. The woman and the chimpanzee are both the victims of irresponsibility on the part of the owner and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection for not recognizing and respecting the dangerous potential of the animal.

No, you just shoot the thing. Let's see an animal in a fit of rage, a severly bleeding woman whose condition is unknown there really is no option but to destroy the animal. I heard that there was an interview with the lead paramedic and he said that in all his years he has not seen injuries this severe and the victim to still be alive.

Don't **** with a monkey then. Excuse me, ape.

nothing unless you also had a couple shovels and a bag of lye.....

Everyone loves monkeys, but when they bite your face off, suddenly they ain't got no love for a *****.

I was listening to bubba the love sponge yesterday going into work and they were making fun of the 911 call and I just couldn't stop laughing. I'm so going to hell.

It's an acquired taste, something for people that find stern just too fluffy and nice.

Okay I am going to hell....when I first heard about this yesterday...I laughed.

Feel sorry for the victim though.
