DVD Lionsgate to Release 'Monster Squad' 20th Anniversary!

One of our new favorite horror mags, HorrorHound Magazine, just scored some amazing info this afternoon - Lionsgate Home Entertainment is working on a special DVD release for Monster Squad, which is slated for release sometime this year. The DVD will not be bare bones as the plan is to pack the 20th anniversary release with extra features. More news as it comes in and don't forget to pick up the next HorrorHound, which features a special retrospect on the film. Dracula is alive. In fact, he plans to rule the world and that is why he seeks the help of other legendary monsters. However, a bunch of kids regarded by their peers as losers uncover the devious plan and prepare for a counter strike. "Wolf Man has nards!"

And i say it's about damn time! i recored this a few years ago when it was on TBS at 4 in the morning.

yeah just bootlegs. The one I have is from MonstersHD. It's a fantastic transfer and it's just the movie.

I'm very happy then this film finally got a DVD packed with features. Now if only the release Halloween 6: The PC and The Wizard:SE (and not the barebones version) onto DVD.

he also played a wolman/vampire in fright night 2 also!

seriously, they need to do another one of these movies,

and i need those classic Michael Sembello songs "rock until you drop" and the amazing "monster squad rap" at the end credits

them remaking this would be the one that causes me to snap. if a remake goes into production i will systematically hunt down and kill everyone invloved. that's not a threat, it's a promise.

It's been years since I've seen this movie. I loved it when I was in high school.t:
