Moon Knight

I have to have a laugh.

I'm glad about this...it's going to be awesome! Good thing I stopped writing my MK film!

CAH

I just realized that this is actually a Marvel Studio's production. That's the best part about this news.

Wow.I just started being a fan of the character, and this happens. Sweet.

I hope they use Finch's artwork as a template for some shots. Moon Knight descending from the sky like that could make for a great opening shot.

I dunno how I feel about this. On one hand, its freakin Moon Knight. I'm glad to see the character getting respect lately(comic, Marvel: UA) and now with a tv show. On the other hand, it could get really cheesy really fast.

Whoever does this is going to have to walk a tight line. Good luck to them.

No the question is...who should play Moon Knight? This isn't a feature film so it's no gonna attract and big names for the lead.

Here's the Moon Knight Casting Thread which I'll ask to be moved here if they will.

They could have Marc Spector jump off the page, if the show sucks it sucks. FInding a lead isnt top priority IMO.

^ I love the costume above that's so tight that it form fits around his veins. LOL Or is he just painted white. :)

I started reading Moonknight when the new Finch series started and I'm loving it. I've been wanting to see MK in a live action format for a while now. As long as it's not on Spike TV, it sounds awesome. (I'm still mad about how they treated Blade.) I say get the Blade rights back and put them both on FX.

So this project won't be locked into just one station?

I'm pleased that they're giving Moon Knight a shot. There's a lot of promise with this character and very little in the way of "baggage" as it's an entirely new character being adapted. It's interesting that all the other announced series never materialized and this Moon Knight announcement came out of the blue.

Moon Knight the TV show could very well turn out to be complete crap. No-one has any idea at this stage. Be optimistic but not naive.

i don't know anything about the charcter, expect that he resembles batman alot. but ill tune in to see what its like.

SWEET, THIS IS AWESOME NEWS, GO MARVEL,:D:up: (AND DC TOO, DON'T WANT TO UPSET ANYBODY, I LIKE THEM BOTH "WHISPERS GO MARVEL AGAIN"):p :D:up: MOON KNIGHT ON THE SMALL SCREEN, AWESOME!!!

Marvel Teams with Canadian Outfit for New Superhero TV Series

LOS ANGELES, October 25: Marvel Entertainment’s Marvel Studios division is working with the Vancouver-based No Equal Entertainment to develop a television series based on the comic book character Moon Knight.

First introduced by Marvel Comics in the mid-1970s, Moon Knight presents the story of soldier of fortune Marc Spector, who becomes a superhero after an encounter with the Egyptian god of vengeance and the moon deity Konshu.

"Moon Knight has all the elements for an engaging television series,” said David Maisel, the executive VP of Marvel Entertainment. “No Equal Entertainment has a real passion for the project and an amazing vision of how to bring the character and storyline to life that will appeal to action and sci-fi enthusiasts.”

Run by the father and son team of Larry and J.B. Sugar, No Equal Entertainment develops, produces, distributes and markets feature films, television movies, series and mini-series.

A little bit more info.

In my opinion there were just 2 things wrong with the Blade series:

1. Blade wasn't the main character in most (all) episodes. It was like "Vampires: The Show. Featuring Blade"
2. Spike TV

So if MK avoids those 2 things it should be fine. :)

As soon as I read about the show, I thought "For their sake, I hope they land a better network then Spike." Hopefully they hook up with someone like F/X (if they decide to go cable). If they stick to the basic channels, I imagine Fox will probably be the only one willing to pick up the series, which I hope doesn't happen because of Fox's track record of ****ing over it's own shows.

I hope Fox don't pick it up because one bad ratings and the show gets cancelled. Fox have cancelled more good shows than any other network. Most of the other networks would kill to have the kinda of quality shows they have got rid of.

I hope Moon Knight has the special effects quality of Smallville cause that show has special effects better than some of the movies coming out recently.

This won't last long. He's not a very well known character. He doesn't have enough comic fans alone to merit more than one season. It'll get low ratings then plummet into the cancellation void of doom in no time.

That's the attitude we need! Way to keep the positive thinking!

Here are my concerns for the show: The fist major concern is the costume. I really hope they do costume juctice, and they better have a costume too , without it, it will take away the mystery of the character. It like taking away Spawn's costume and he would be a zombie hero with now powers, since spawn powers came from the suite and not him. Second thing would be the powers. I have seen several adaptation of heroes losse the costumes and powers from comics to TV and some movies. Third is not so much still a concern is the History. It looks like with the history/origin of the character but still most tranlation still losses that. Look at Painkiller Jane which changed way too much. Chnged from a scop to special forces agent and took the most easiest costume from the comics (bandages) to do out of the movie.

What do guys and gals think?

Aside from what you mentioned, My main hope is that they keep the multiple personality disorder angle in it. That's part of the reason I became interested in the character, recently... Moon Knight isn't just two people. He's Moon Knight, Marc Spector, Jake Lockley, and Steven Grant.

I think with the right actor and writing, that the concept of that could really make the show alot more interesting and bring in more viewers who aren't familiar with him.

i think their going to make this eppeal to a mass midea audience, not just to us comic fans, so i hope they don't like get teenagers & stuff & make it like a happy go lucky show, kinda like how smallville is.

i mean smallville isn't really a bad show, i don't care fot it, but the acotrs they have to play the charcters are to bring in the teeny bopper crowd so... i dunno, im just curious how it will turn out.

oh & as previous people have said i to hope that it doesn't go to spike tv where it will get canclled admeatly. it needs to go to another network where they care about shows like that, like sci-fi as someone stated.

I think for a character like Moon Knight, this is the way to go. I don't think a movie would be profitable, but a show on a good network (no FOX or Spike) could work well for him.

Great news. A Moon Knight series could be awesome. Think they'll cast a newcomer or a seasoned actor? I think Michael Vartan or Cole Hauser could be good as Marc Spector.
