Moon

saw this in LA monday afternoon and loved it. i want a kevin spacey robot.

I hate that this movie isn't playing anywhere remotely close to where I live. :down

And I'm in/around Philadelphia! A major city! I think it's only in L.A. and NYC at this point.

its too bad Sam Rockwell will get prolly get snubbed for an Best Actor Oscar. Its about time people appreciate Sam Rockwell, one of my favorite actors.

The movie finally came to philly and I just saw it last night. What a beautiful spectacular film. It totally represents everything great about a Sci Fi Movie. And it never tried to hide anything, there were no secrets what so ever. Sam Rockwell does deserve an Oscar Nom for this one and so does Duncan Jones, and Clint Mansell for his beautiful score once again.

Finally getting released near me. Seeing it tomorrow. Excited!

Saw it this afternoon. Very good movie, but I think people touting this as the best movie they've seen in years...that's overdoing it a little. MOON's plot is really, really predictable. The movie really never bothers to hide any of the twists, and that's almost welcome, because it gets right down to exploring its premise. Thankfully, Sam Rockwell's performance(s) makes it compelling. Kevin Spacey's "Gerty" is something of an oddity, and one of those suspension of disbelief elements. There were a few hard to swallow elements to the overall premise, but for the most part, this is executed very, very well. Great sets, landscapes, etc. The music is also very immersive. We need more Sci Fi in this vein.

I'm still trying to figure out what the deal was with the
girl he kept seeing
.

9/10.

Someone on IMDB suggested that the girl looked a lot like his daughter when they showed her at 15, but I don't know what significance that would have other than him just losing his mind after all that time alone. They never really "went back to it" after he crashed the vehicle.

That's sort of what I was thinking, but if he wasn't
losing it
, that makes no sense.

Saw this movie today and thought it was superb, loved the exploration of humanity the movie delves into in the 2nd half, and it definately had some tragic moments and a great ending, great sci-fi

9/10.

i have yet to see Moon, Hurt Locker, and the Collector
i have to see it before the year ends

I saw this last Sunday it's definitely my favourite movie of the year.

Ducan Jones On His next film
“If Moon is an homage to Silent Running and Alien and Outland, then the next one is my homage to Blade Runner…. Not the same story, but definitely of the same spirit.”

The sci-fi film I want to do is called Mute -- a very different feel and pace to Moon, but a story that takes place within the same universe. It's a thriller that takes place in a future Berlin, and is very much a love letter to what I loved about the believable "world building" of Blade Runner.

On Rockwell’s upcoming cameo
“Sam has agreed to do a little cameo [in my next movie], where we will have a little epilogue moment of what happened to Sam when he got back to Earth.”
