Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

But thats the problem! This is meant to be the last game with these characters. Thats why there were so many cuts in order to get as many characters as possible in! I want stories that are wrapped up, not just "What ifs"...

Yeah the endings could've definately been better, but it's not like they ruin the whole game.

And if you play through Konquest they explain a few things...like how Frost comes back and stuff. Konquest is definately really sweet in this game.

As for the new fatality system, I didn't like it at first, but it's not THAT bad. Sure, it's not as good as the gruesome fatalities we got before, but it's not as bad as I thought. It's a bit more complicated than it looked in the videos, so since they aren't insane easy to execute I don't mind as much!

My only BIG complaint is that everything is way too easy to unlock. I'm about an hour or so into Konquest mode and I have almost every stage and every alternate costume unlocked. WTF am I gonna do after I beat Konquest? And also the alternate costumes to the characters are huge cop outs because they are just the exact same costumes from the last 2 games. Now THAT is a kick in the nuts.

I don't know. How about you play the actual fighting part of this game?

Here's a nice little quote from the gamefaqs boards that kinda describes how I feel.

So basically, if I want to actually play a fighting game, I shouldn't be playing this game?

Yes. In fact, the fighting mode should be an unlockable. I mean, when I play an MK game, I'm expecting to play beat 'em ups, tedious adventure games, not this "one-on-one, hand-to-hand fighting" crap. MK has always been about kart racers, Super Puzzle Fighter ripoffs, and pictures of the DREAMY development team.

Hopefully with the next generation of MK games they'll go back to be simply a fighter.

What I meant by "WTF am i gonna do when I'm done Konquest" I mean there will be nothing left to unlock.

It took me AGES to unlock everything in Deception. I unlock something new every 5 minutes in Armageddon.

I for one am glad that you actually get to unlock items and costumes so fast. I wouldn't want to spend an eternity waiting to unlock the right outfit part for my KAK character.

Also, the thing I want to do most when playing a fighting game, is to kick someones ass. And not collecting money like in a rpg to buy new stuff.

I guess. But for those of us who don't have online play, standard MK can get kinda boring after a while, so I'm glad we have Konquest mode.

I created a KAK, but as far as I can tell you can only create one fighter. That's pretty laaaaame. I'd be all about KAK if you could create tons like in games like Smackdown vs Raw 2006.

I'm a little dissapointed with the combo's in MKA. Most characters don't have more then 3 or 4 hit combo's, then aerial combat...what happened to the combo's from MKD and MKDA? Shang Tsung's straight sword is terrible now compared to how it was in MKDA.

me too. By the time I got through unlocking most of the items, I got bored

I hate the new fighting system too. The combos are too simple and theres too much emphasis on aerial combat. I think having 2 fighting styles instead of 3 really hurt the gameplay for this game. I much prefer Deception

Between the slack fatalities, somewhat generic endings and changes in the fighting system, I'm glad I didn't open the Premium Edition I picked up. I was just gonna go and exchange it for the regular brand when it came in, but I think I'll return it and look for a rental instead.

Perhaps I should just get Deception again
This game is a classic case of Quantity vs Quality. The big selling point was that it contained every character from MK and they delivered (w/exception of Khameleon) Unfortunetly bc of that they didnt have the time or probably space to give everyone proper fatalties, endings and limited their movelists. Seriously the only plus this has over Deception is Konquest mode as that has been improved. W/60 plus characters, they can be generic and repetive so number really isnt that big of a deal. I had more fun overall with Deception and Im gonna boot up my old copy. The fighting was definetly deeper

I for one am glad that you don't have to do a lot in order to unlock things. In Deception it takes forever to unlock the two people I wanted to play the most.

Another I've unlocked like four or five new arenas, but they keep making me play the ones that are already unlocked over and over again. Is that happening to anyone else?

Deception + Shaolin Monks > Armageddon, perhaps?

You guys are way too hard on this game IMO.

I personally love it.

I think everthing that has been said was pretty justified so far. I also have somewhat fun with the game, but just because I have fun I won't overlook the serious flaws that are plaguing this game.

I'm getting used to the new fighting style in this game. I think they upgraded some weaker styles and downgraded some of the better ones to balance out the gameplay. It definatley has a different feel then deception...I think I like Deception's mechanics better overall, but I like this game as well because it's a different style game with it's own feel.

I'm really enjoying having all the characters  Fujin and Reiko kick ass

I couldn't believe how good they made Reiko. He is awesome.

Did anyone read the manual that came with the game? It's weird...it has little mistakes in it like they wrote it before the game or something.

It says that in the krypt, it's a buch of skulls on the wall that you pick from...but that's not the case. It also says that you don't know what you're opening, as it was in Deception, but that's also not the case cuz it tells you everything you're unlocking.

And as well with the character select it says choose the "?" icon to do random select, but there is no "?" icon lol

thats how i feel also. MK was never a rpg game, it was just a fighting game, and they should of left it at that.

lol i didnt catch that, still funny how theres soo many mistakes in it.

I use the ninjas most, but other than them:

Kano
Reiko
Cage
Raiden
Kintaro

I haven't even used some characters...like Li Mei or Bo Rai Cho or Movado lol

I'm really diggin' Reiko, Reptile, Rain, Cage, Taven and Fujin

I haven't played with a lot of characters yet. I've been mostly playing Konquest. But I tried Daegon, who I just recently unlocked, against a friend and I must say I love that dude.

Yeah, Daegon kicks ass

I used his rolling uppercut move for my Ken and Ryu created characters :D

IS anyone making any Kreate a Kharacters that are cool?

I made The Shredder and Storm Shadow from G.I. Joe. I might see if I can make Snake Eyes. I saw some awesome Marvel Hero ones on some other Gamefaqs message boards for MKA that are really awesome.
