TBH, I stated this earlier as a joke, but now it seems like its actually happening. I think the director took the realistic approach possibly showing that he could take something otherworldly and make it into something that could garner alot of success if given the proper amount of thought.

Yes, I read once before that the director of Rebirth would insert the supernatural factors if he had the chance, the mix between more grim reality and games supernatural stuff would be strange

I still remember almost walking out when I seen this in theaters.

...And I saw it for free because my dad's company used to have "employee family day" and they bought out the theater for a full day and family of the employees could see any movie they wanted for free.

From the interviews, its going to be a mix of what we saw in the Rebirth trailer and the fantastical elements. The only reason you didnt see anything on the fantastical side is because they didn't have that much money to shoot it.

im looking forward to these. i would actually love if the webisodes were all made so that they could be watched together as one big film. id hope they are longer than 10 minutes since we are only getting 10 of them but thats longer than the original 2 films were individually (i think).

10 wedisodes, 10 minutes each (roughly, still not exact on the length) would total 100 minutes. If edited properly, it could very well be put together to make one cohesive feature film.

• They shot the short film over two days on two RED cameras
• Started in early April and it took 2 months to do the post production. Most people donated their time. The short was made for $7,500
• Knew if he was going to get a chance at a genre picture, he’d have to show he could do it on his own. This is a calling card for a chance at making the next Mortal Kombat feature film and it’s his vision for how he’d do it.
• No one at any studio knew he was doing the short
• Oren Uziel wrote the short. He’s currently listed on IMDb to write the next Mortal Kombat movie at Warner Bros.
• Says he wants to make a movie that balances the real world with the mysticism and the special powers. Compares it to the way Harry Potter exists in two worlds. As in there are two universes that coexist with each other.
• Confirms “fatalities” are definitely in his movie. He wants to put them in the tournament in an “organic way”
• Definitely would use “get over here” (the classic line from the game)
• Michael Jai White plays Jax Briggs in the short and he’d definitely be a part of the feature.
• Says Scorpion is the bad guy and will stay a bad guy
• They only had 4 hours to shoot the big fight scene
