Trust me its Brarka, maybe its pre CG or in the middle of doing his make up/costume when they took that pic but here's the clues:
1) "TeppanYaki chef" its a Japanese chef that usually have a lot of knives.
2) The guy in the photo is doing the exact pose as Baraka.

Baraka. Bear in mind they might tone him down a little. I don't think anyone should expect it to look 100% like Baraka from the games.

Edit: Scorpion a bad guy in this again? It's been ages so my memory might be playing tricks on me but wasn't Scorpion an anti-hero type back in the original game?

That's what I thought at first too, but I think it's just the pic. The blades are curved a bit so they appear round like a pole, but I'm pretty sure they're still blades.

As for his teeth. They may not be sharp, but they still look pretty gnarly.

Well it looks like he has furry gauntlets (look closely towards his forearm, it looks like leather). Maybe he has a scene in a cold climate. We DID see a snowy climate in one of the teaser photos with a bloody spine.

Really? I'm going from memory here but wasn't his backstory in MK1 something like escaping hell to take revenge on Sub-Zero who was responsible for killing his entire village/family?

That definitely doesn't sound like a bad guy's backstory.
