Mortal Kombat X - Part 2

Just finished reading issue #14 of the MKX comic and now I am convinced that [BLACKOUT]Shinnok[/BLACKOUT] is the final boss. IDK, it just looks that way to me.

Story mode has been streamed online... just a heads up.

So, did they dumb down fatalities for MK9?

Been binge playing, first time playing the game, but for MK:DA (Didn't have Deception or Armageddon), could never do the fatalities from what I remember from way back when...

Depends on what you mean by "dumb down."

I did the training and fatality training before going into the ladder and I did a couple (Skarlett/Mileena) and the commands, for me at least, were pretty simple, unlike the previous game(s) where I couldn't string together a command.

My opinion of course...

Yea the MK fatalities were more, forgiving, compared to previous entries. It prob won't be much different in X. Also there's gonna be "easy fatalities" for those who can't do the standard fatalities.

Ah, I get ya and I agree. This mostly has to do with them going back to the 2D format. Oh and the less said about the Fatalities in Armageddon, the better.

Thanks for the info! :yay::up:

ETA: Side note: the only time I did a fatality ever before today was playing the original MK way back when and I somehow unknowingly did Scorpion's fatality.

So are Jacqui and Cassie BFF's in this game or just happen to work together?

We don't know for sure, the game isn't out yet. In the comics, they are friends apparently, though.

Hey did we ever found out who Keifer Sutherland is voicing?

A month or two before the game was officially announced, during an interview he had said he had just done voice work for a mortal kombat game but I never saw anything about it anymore after that

Interesting. How is everyone's general feeling towards Jacqui and Cassie? Part of me feels slightly conflicted that whilst it may make sense from a story perspective that some of the next generation of fighters are the offspring of some of the classic characters I can't help but feel these two characters are somewhat of a strange compromise between new and familiar made all the more odd considering their parents are in the game.

Didn't really bother me with Street Fighter or Tekken. You had the classic cast, and eventually the new blood that were either sons/daughters or simply pupils of them. Fighting styles were similar, but also different. So I am completely fine with Jacqui and Cassie. They are still much better than most of the characters from the PS2 era.

So you hate his storylines!? I thought you hated him as a character like his appearance or moves
Maybe.

I think the issue is that they made Quan Chi the mastermind behind most of the stuff that happened in MK. Oh, something terrible happened? Quan Chi did it!
Pretty much.

My EXTREME hatred for Quan Chi comes from my record against users who would choose Quan Chi. I just, for the life of me, couldn't top Quan Chi users.
He's beatable, if you can beat Smoke, Ermac, and Noob Saibot, you can beat that a-hole.

who in SF were kids of the older fighters? Im drawing a blank

I'll wait to see how it plays out here in MK but this bothered me big time in Soul Calibur

Well, the whole kids deal applies more to Tekken. In Street Fighter you just had the occasional student.

Haha I kept telling myself that. Ermac was another Id struggle with, but not nearly to the extent I struggled with Quan Chi.

Warner Bros. and Netherrealm have released the final/launch trailer.

The story looks epic. The hype is REAL. :hmr:

I have the game and Goro installed and ready to play once it's midnight on the 14th. Can't wait to play some quick fights then jump into the story.

That trailer is awesome. Really looking forward to playing the story mode. Wish all other fighters were up to scratch on that front.
