Most atrocious Nicolas Cage movie..................................ever.

Doesn't a movie being "the worst Nicolas Cage movie" also make it "the best Nicolas Cage movie"? The only bad performances Nic Cage has done are the ones that are boringly mediocre. I either want to see him doing legitimately great acting or pouring on the ham and cheese, because at either end of the spectrum I know I'm going to be entertained.

If you watched that video, you were entertaned by Nicolas Cage. The Wickerman isn't his worst movie, because it's so bad it's good. The bad ones are the ones where it's just so bland that you lose interest. Sorcerer's Apprentice and Bangkok Dangerous seem to be put into that criteria pretty often by people who have seen them.

That basically sums it up . I wonder if Nic Cage ever watched this video , lol .

I totally forgot about Moonstruck, only seen it the once, I enjoyed it a lot, and as you say, it was another top quality Cage performance.
I haven't seen Bad LieutenantPONO or Matchstick men, but out of that list, I'd maybe put LLL over RA.

Watch those films. He's good in Matchstick men and ****ing great in Bad Lieutenant.

I' am surprised nobody has mentioned Wild at Heart yet.

I swear to god, lol, this is the last time i attempt to have a casual, shoot the breeze, friendly convo over here about movies, you can't type up anything without certain folk reading into things you did not intend, and then twisting it against you.

I forgot about Moonstruck too. It could be over the top, but he does it in such a way that Cage pulls it off.

I cannot believe you forgot to mention his legendary maneuvering of Eleanor.

You know, Cage doesn't have any more stinkers than any other of his contemporaries, if Tom Cruise, or Johnny Depp are in bad films they realise it while filming and just sleepwalk through it, Cage's get noticed more because of how gleefully he jumps into them and experiment with things like wigs and prosthetics. Say what you will about other actors, but Cage will never do a movie solely for a paycheck, he'll always find something worth doing about a role.

"I'm a vampire! I'm a vampire! I'm a vampire!"

I actually love that movie because it's so hilariously demented.

I assume we've all seen 'Nicolas Cage Losing his S**t' here?

I think he was in financial trouble, taxes and stuff guys. I KNOW he was in a bit of a financial bind, just not sure if that was why he's been just churning out so many crapfests. Maybe he was taking any money he could get.

That's the point, he's in dire straights financially, but he'll still only do films that interest him.

Looking at how laughably bad Cage's films can be at times it makes me almost... almost wish Superman Lives had been made. Can you see the epic trainwreck that movie would have been?

I agree with everyone who says Cage is awesome though. His great stuff and his trainwrecks are crazy entertaining. Only the bland stuff is bad.

Don't forget Con-Air either :woot:

Cage, Bushemi, Malkovich? Epic fun.

apparently even Nic Cage likes it , lol

found this interview on screen junkies:

SJ: There’s also that YouTube clip of “Nicolas Cage Losing His S***.” Are you happy that people are celebrating those moments?
NC: Oh yeah. That’s very exciting. I was happy to see that this person found it and was going back to some of the really early work like Zandalee and even the movie I made with my brother Deadfall. It was very exciting to see that be reawakened.

He just says yes to every paying role that lands on his agent's desk. Cage has been hurting for money big time for a while now. He's losing homes to foreclosure left and right.

He's definitely talented though. One of my favorites.

DON'T FORGET GRINDHOUSE PEOPLE!

He stole the show with that one.

And did someone seriously say Face/Off was bad? And then admit that they haven't even watched the ****ing movie?
With Cage playing his best John Travolta and Travolta playing his best Cage? Man, what a dumbass.

I've gotta say Face/Off was brilliant, Nic Cage made that film.

When he's Troy I loved him I thought what a brilliant character, then when there is the face swap and he become Archer I found myself supporting Archer who at first (when played by Travolta) I didn't care for!

Nic Cage = awesome

This. Cage loves what he does. Period. It doesn't matter the quality of the film, I've never gotten the impression of him walking through it like alot of actors do in lesser films. He puts his all into every single one of his films. With no shame.

And the Conan threat level was awesome. :awesome:

I've also seen "Nic Cage Loses his ****" and that's pretty goddamn genius.

Yeah, four every three or four films critics slam him for, he's got that one that has them on his jock like a hooker desperate to make rent!

But I definitely agree, the man's at his best when he's chewing the hell outta the scenery, whether the films are good or bad.

Did anyone mention Lord of War? Now THAT was just a great movie all around. Definitely one of his best.
