What are some of the most frustrating moments you've ever experienced in a videogame?

Super Mario Bros. 3, NES: Fire World
I could never beat this without the help of a Game Genie. This world is utter madness.

Breakdown, XBox: 2nd Solus Battle

This battle feels like it goes on forever, and Solus moves very quickly, and unleashes a barrage of attacks, making it incredibly frustrating.

Once you're finally close to defeating him, the music changes and becomes faster and more intense. It was very satisfying to finally beat him.

Tekken 6, XBox360: Alisa Boss Battle

In Scenario Campaign Mode, Alisa, the cute pink-haired robot girl whose been helping you throughout the game, has now turned on you, and not only do you have to defeat her, but several armored brutes as well. All of her attacks are very difficult to avoid and consume a lot of your health meter. Sometimes she'll freeze you, then begin to beat you senseless, turn her arms into chainsaws, shoot missles at you, and even tear her own head off, place it in your hands and have it explode.

Banjo-Kazooie, N64: Final Boss: Gruntilda

The boss battle starts off simple enough, with Grunty flying to and fro, and stopping every now and then for you to attack her. But as it progresses, it gets more and more difficult. Firing eggs at all the Jinjo statues at the end, WHILE trying to avoid all of the rocks Grunty is throwing like a madman, and dodging her homing attacks with Golden Feathers (if you have enough) had me wanting to tear my hair out in frustration. Thank goodness for cheats.

Good topic!

I remember getting incredibly frustrated racing Hillary in GTA: Vice City over and over and over again. The only way I beat him was to nudge him down an alleyway (which was a total fluke) and then drive like hell.

And then it was all for nothing anyway, of course.

The final Shao Khan fight in MK9 is the longest most difficult boss fight I've had to do in over a decade.

**** that guy. :cmad:

The Veteran difficulty of Call of Duty: World At War. Crawling along the ground because one bullet will kill you, and seven grenades land at your feet. Greeeeeat.

Getting the "Mile High Club" achievement in COD: Modern Warfare. It takes a whole lot of luck to get through it.

Really? SK was cake in that game. Now SK in UMK3? That dude i could only beat with Sub Zero.

yep, Megaman for NES

take your pick of any Megaman game

Any moment in Battletoads and Battletoads & Double Dragon. Hardest games ever.

I remember this one moment on the Collector ship in ME2 on Insanity. I died over and over and over and over again until I made it.

Lego Batman 2.
The save system makes one restart the level, instead of saving their progress, and the mounds of bricks needed to make a costume container are almost impossible to find. But, I do enjoy the game immensely: it supplies me with everything I want in a Batman video game.

lolwut

Lego Batman 2....? C'mon.
Granted, games like this that force you to replay levels from the start instead of having convenient save checkpoints are frustrating, but that's nowhere near the same thing as difficult. "Difficult" is Megaman, Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden, Contra throw-your-controller-out-the-window *hard.*

I just got back into Super Mario World, **** that game is more frustratingly hard than I remember.

I always found Super Mario Bros. 3 worse in that department. SMW you can at least go back and replay a level to collect some power-ups and lives to help you.

I've had plenty has a kid that I can't remember. One that comes to mind is GTA: San Andreas flying that stupid toy helicopter. **** that mission.

Christ, yes. Fortunately that was a side mission and you didn't have to do it to complete the story. After the first six million tries I just gave up.

Kintaro, that jerk always finds a way to win in MK2
Street Fighter 2010, toughest game I ever played
Any moment in Battletoads and Battletoads & Double Dragon. Hardest games ever.
If you choose 2 players game mode B (I think that one allows you to hit your friend), that's hard pain

My most difficult moment in gaming was when my wife and children left me because I spent two months straight playing Skyrim.

Ha ha. Yeah, only my wife left me. I got to keep the kids.

You didn't even have to show a level. Or a boss. Or a moment.
Just....Megaman.

Amen to that!

This is the first game I've played in years that frustrated the hell out of me.

And as bad as Shao Kahn is in story mode, he's worse in the Challenge tower.

3 Shao Kahn's in a row
Reminds me of the missions in Guilty Gear X2 Reload, some those are too tough
