Dear friends, there are some cbms which are simply excellent and I tend to re-watch a lot (e.g. GOTG, Civil War and TDK, I've probably seen GOTG around 100 times, and TDK more). I mean, both TDK and GOTG I also saw 5 times in the cinema, couldn't get enough of them. Back in the day, when I was flatting at university my flat-mates and I would throw on Batman (1989) in the background all the time.

However, there are also some cbms which are also excellent but I don't re-watch often ( e.g. Logan, it legitimately rivals TDK for best cbm ever, but I just find it too bleak, I could only bear to see it once. Winter Soldier I find hard to get into ).

And then, interestingly, there are some cbms which aren't that great but I love rewatching them ( e.g. Thor TDW, and X-Men the last stand - I was a sucker for Xavier's death scene, and I pull out Blade Trinity at least once a year, mostly for Ryan Reynolds' lines)

The cbms that aren't that great, and I never re-watch....well we don't need to worry about them.

(note: my "other" vote would be "The Crow" which I rewatch every other year or so).

Cheers.

So, I'm interested what films people tend to re-watch (in the cinema and at home).

I have no count register for how many times I sat through each CBM, I think if there is any CBM I managed to watch 20 times or more it's probably due to all the years that passed since I first sat through it.

The number of favorites I watched more times than the rest that I can think of right now probably don't go higher than 6 movies, but I'll try to count them:

BATMAN (1989)
Men in Black (1997)
Spider-Man (2002)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)

The closest movie to these I can think of right now is probably Batman Returns, but the more I grew the more distant I find myself from that movie, so it grew from one of the most watchable to one of the least watchable movies.

Batman Returns. Probably the most watched CBM of mine.
Nolan's trilogy.
The Avengers.

I voted a few newer films as well, but it's probably a mistake. Because I don't know how rewatchable they will be a few years later.

I lost count of how many times I watched Batman Returns on video tape and later DVD, so just by shear numbers of how many times I have seen it, it has to be the most re-watchable.
Not necessarily the best, just the one I have re-watched the most.

I must have rewatched the Burton and Schumacher Batman movies hundreds of times as a kid. They were so damn entertaining.

TDK trilogy
Spider-Man 2
The Winter Soldier
Days of Future Past
Civil War
Guardians of the Galaxy
Deadpool

Same here. I don't often tend to rewatch movies these days.

Think I was able to group them into 3 tiers.

  • Favorite Movie
  • Jam-Packed and Always Something New to Discover
  • Holiday Specials

The last one for me is exclusively during Halloween.

My rationale isn't just which is the most enjoyable on a rewatch, but also which I rewatch years and years, and sometimes decades, later. For example Iron Man is very enjoyable to rewatch the first few times, but I haven't probably watched it from beginning to end since 2008.

Anyway the ones I voted for:

-Superman: The Movie
-Batman (1989)
-Batman Returns
-Batman Begins
-The Dark Knight
-The Dark Knight Rises
-The Avengers
-Spider-Man
-Spider-Man 2
-Captain America: Civil War
-Guardians of the Galaxy
-X-Men: First Class
-X-Men: Days of Future Past
-Kick-Ass

I picked The Dark Knight, Civil War, and Iron Man, just because those are my three favorite CBMs so those are typically gonna be the ones I come back to over and over. But especially TDK.

I watched Dark Knight about a hundred time between its release and the end of 2008 so that settled it.

Spider-Man 2 is the one I'm the most fond of but haven't rewatched in about a year now. That's still the Marvel movie, though, MCU or not.

A none superhero CBM that I'm always up for -

The ones I have seen the most:

Superman I and II
Spider-Man I and II
Batman, Batman Returns, and Batman Forever
Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises
X-Men, X2, First Class, and DOFP
The Captain America trilogy
Both Avengers
GOTG
Blade
The Crow

BB
TDK
SM2
X2
DoFP
GOTG 1-2
Avengers 1-2
Cap 2-3

Other movies like Spider-Man,Ant-Man, Deadpool and Doctor Strange are highly rewatchable too even if they are not among my Absolute favourites.

To me the most rewatchable movies aren't necessarily the best ones or my favorite ones. Rewatchability has a lot to do with how easy a movie is to digest, thus the most rewatchable films are those who are simple, straight to the point, not very emotionally charged and also not very lenghty. They still have to be good, obviously.

Batman
Batman Returns
TMNT
Spider-Man
Ironman

Some of the ones I rewatch the most aren't in the poll.....

HELLBOY
HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY
BLADE
BLADE II

Those that hold value, quite simply for me, emotional value.

Above all though, would have to be Superman (1978), I could watch this every day and never be bored. Simply adore it.

The ones I rewatch myself the most are The Dark Knight, AoU, Civil War, Winter Soldier, X1 and X2,
