Most Underachieving Film???

its impossible to hate every spielberg film..........and thats a fact

I agree, but lately his films are just plain bad. Catch me if you can was the last decent film he made, and this was very fun, but not a fantastic or a classic like duel or close encounters.

Well since 2000 he has only made Minority Report,Catch me if you can,Terminal,WOTW and Munich, this decade is only half over, wait till he gets,Lincoln and Interstellar out as well before you judge to much

Well, 2000-2005 were not so good years for Spielberg as I think.

Of course he made such good movies like CMIYC, Minority Report, Munich and Terminal, but they were not so great movies, like I was expecting (except CMIYC).

But I am still waiting for Lincoln and Interstellar :) Hope this time Spielberg will really amaze me

Spielberg should stick to sci-fi, he's better at it. Heartfelt conflict stories aren't his specialty. They'll al be rated against schindlers list, so even the good ones(if he ever makes them) will seem bad.

I somehow found the action sequences were very dull, banna didn't really convince me of his role, and there were so many unneccessary parts. The idea was great, a revenge movie, where you don't want to take the revenge(i know that's not the whole thing, but it's the most interesting part), but we have seen this done better in mr. vengeance, where revenge has to be taken, even tough we sypathise with the original act. How one person's greed causes so much suffering of innocents. Mr. vengeance was a reasonably slow film too, but managed much better characterisation, and was a better story and was much more pleasing in every aspect.
although i DO think munich was ok..........he SHOULD stick to what he does best.....scifi.

although we knew munich was gonna be made for years....we didnt care.and the movie ended up coming out of nowhere.

Even though the pace was slow thats what i would expect just from the type of movie I was watching.

I think Munich was underrated by critics.

It was very good movie, which had dark vissual style, serious scenes, logical and realistic aspects

I'll leave you with this, spielberg has not made any 'classic' films for ages, and none of his films will be become classics, because he is not as good as he once was.
There are no classics like schindlers list, jurassic park, indiana jones, close encounters, jaws and duel.
It's been about nine years since he's released a movie that anyone would think of calling a classic. He has lost his edge, which is a sad thing to say, but you have to admit it. Comparing catch me if you can or minority report to jaws or duel is blasphemy for any film fan.

As much as it pains me to say it, spielberg's time has come and gone...

Then just call me a Blasphemer then and happily so:up:

Lost World did have story, and it was a worthy companion piece to the first movie. Jurassic Park is very colourful and about family, The Lost World is very dark and cynical and about the evil of capitalism. In the first, Malcolm is comic relief and exciteable, in the second he's brooding and nagative.

And what is Jp3 compared to those too? A saturday morning cartoon. Jurassic Park Adventures.
lol true.....

but jp2 felt like too much of an adventure.......malcome was just in a marathon the whole movie that led to the city and back.

they should just make jp4 bring back the theme park (maybe in the US) and start back from where they were.jp1 is the best, it had everything... the colorful yet dangerous theme park was awesome.jp4 needs to bring that back (and maybe some city damage too:D )

 LOL, he really was.....if you really want to lose weight (and very possibly your life), run the Isla Sorna 2006 Marathon. We guarentee you won't stop until the helicopters rescue you!

I guess i was trying to make a point, i guess it worked cause people stopped talking about it. I also felt i should try to make an impression, and why not, the bigger the better(although tha's not strictly true for everything, but lets move on....)
