I really can't think of a modern horror film that has matched the pure creepiness of certain shots in Nosferatu. Really amazing stuff.

2001: A Space Odyssey -

Just a stunningly beautiful film. Even the sterile walls of the space ship look amazing.

Once Upon a Time in the West -

Ugh, every frame in this movie is so perfect. Leone really knows how to photograph faces and landscapes. Each one would make a beautiful painting.

The Thin Red Line
Days of Heaven
The Tree of Life
The Qatsi trilogy (if we can include documentaries)
Baraka
Aguirre
Dark City
Spirit of the Beehive
Once Upon a Time in the West
Once Upon a Time in America
Lord of the Rings
Pan's Labyrinth
Chronos
The Cremaster Cycle films
The NeverEnding Story (though I don't know if this is just my love for that film)

Some recent ones I saw..

Sucker Punch was fairly stunning.
Pandorum....man they really got a lot in that movie right with the feel of space horror

I see I was beaten to the punch in mentioning 2001, but that's one of the first movies I thought of for this thread. I would also mention Nosferatu, but the 1979 Werner Herzog remake. Of course, the Murnau silent is stunning, but I was really taken by the visuals in the Herzog version.

Some of the other most visually stunning to me:
Edward Scissorhands
Big Fish
Sweeney Todd
The Nightmare Before Christmas
the Star Wars saga
Kill Bill
Metropolis
Pan's Labyrinth
Sin City
300
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

There are so many more. I haven't even done any westerns, but I want to stop now.

Love me some Wizard of Oz.

Oh, and Metropolis.

The majority of Disney's Animated features:Fantasia,Sleeping Beauty,Alice in Wonderland,Snow White,Pinocchio,Dumbo etc...

Say what you will about the story, but 300 was beatufull to look at!
And ofc I cant find the particular pic I'm looking for, but the one I'm talking about most is the one near the end where all the soldiers lays dead and it zooms out so it looks like a painting.

LOTR movies
Psycho

The Night of the Hunter
Touch of Evil
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
Saving Private Ryan
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Children of Men
Star Wars

^Don't know why you highlighted the good the bad and the ugly. The visuals in that are astoundingly beautiful.

For me it isn't even close. Lawrence of Arabia is easily the most visually stunning film I've ever scene. They'd never be able to do it now without it costing 500 million dollars.

^^ The Mirage scene in LOA made my jaw drop to the floor. It's stunning.
