Just curious. What's your preferred method of rating films?

I used to use the Ebert system of 0-5 stars (with halves), but I've since adopted the 1-10 system, with 6 being the lowest rating for a 'good' film.

You?

How about no ratings and you read the review to find out if the person liked it or not.

I use 0 to 10 because I often find the star system to be to limited and confusing.

Four stars is the best system, to me. 1-10 is too complicated. I mean, what's seperates a 6 from a 7, or a 2 from a 3. At that point, it becomes more of a guessing game.

With the star system, you can look at it and tell instantly. 2 stars, average. 3 stars, better than average, etc. And if you use half stars, that's even more choice and precision, but doesn't have as many ratings to choose from and obsess over like the excessive 1-10 system.

1 to 10, but its kinda hard to tell sometimes because technically an "average" movie should be about a 4,5, or 6, but people usually put 5s, and 6s as a terrible movie.

5 stars w/ half stars

1-10 is too large scale for me.
