Movies you liked but your mate/spouse/other half didn't...

Footloose, Dirty Dancing, etc. I like but Hubby doesn't

The Poiseidon Adventure, Hubby liked and I didn't

My picks are in red, hers in purple:
Spider-Man (She's arachnophobic.)
Spider-Man 2 (she found it depressing.)
Batman Begins (she doesn't GREATLY dislike it; she just prefers the Burton/Keaton version)
Shaun Of The Dead
Office Space (she just didn't find these two funny.)
MIIB
Bad Boys (But she liks the second one.)
X3 (The deaths, Rogues actions & the ending made her mad. She felt if anybody was gonna kill Jean it should've been Scott.)
AVP (actually I can't even get her to watch it.)
Daredevil Director's Cut (b/c they cut out the romance.)

Moulin Rouge
Fried Green Tomatoes (And she calls "Spider-Man" depressing?)
Batman Returns

I recall being at a girl's house back in 2002 with The Fellowship of the Ring 4-disc Extended Edition boxset on release day......and she watched About a Boy all the way thru instead.

About a Boy.

Instead of The Fellowship of the Ring.

I can't help but notice the way you phrased, "I recall being at a girl's house..."; this would lead one to conclude that you & this young lady are no longer an item.

So you are into the 80's music & dance films & he's not.

LOL, well observed. :)

Your wife sounds like a keeper with those X3 comments Wallace. Also AVP.

The other day I told mine about the apparent reboot they're doing on the Hulk; she didn't understand why. She thought it was fine the way it was.

When we watched it the other day she said what REALLY pissed her off was Magneto's dismissal of Mystique. She can't abide anyone abandoning a "ride-or-die chick" like that.

I can now add...
Spider-Man 3 & Tristan & Isolde.

Mine gets it pretty well and is pretty stoked for it, more so than Iron Man.
My brother just doesn't get it.

Mine didn't like the original Hellboy, but I'm thinking she'll love the new one, as she loved Pan's Labyrinth and this one will be closer to it visually.

My ex-girlfriend hated "Grindhouse" while I loved it, and I hated "The Devil Wears Prada" while she loved it. There was some good middle ground between those, though. We both loved movies like "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and "300".

My girlfriend generally has a good taste in films, which I'm pleased about. She was more than happy to see Grindhouse in theatres with me, even when I had already shown her Death Proof and Planet Terror. She also loved In Bruges, which was a superb film.

But, I think the film that divided us...was Shoot Em Up. I loved the over the top action in that, but she just didn't like it. She also didn't get my hate for Transformers.
