Could someone recommend me something to watch tonight? I really like good crime films, I don't mind if it's an oldie.

I highly recommend The Long Good Friday and Get Carter. (1971 -- the proper version)

Also if you haven't seen this under-rated Scorsese gem, I suggest you check it out.

Mean Streets
Directed by Martin Scorsese
Rating: 7.5/10

First off I had no idea what to expect from this movie and really had no idea what it's about. This movie is a very likeable movie besides some glaring faults. IMDB.Com sums the plot up of the movie very well, "A small-time hood struggles to succeed on the "mean streets" of Little Italy." That small-time hood is Charlie Cappa played by Harvey Keitel. Charlie looks to have a very prosperous career but he's held down by his relationships to various people. The thing I really liked about this movie is the realism, or perhaps not the realism but how low-key it was, it wasn't as grandoise as Goodfellas, or any of Scorsese gangster pictures. You really feel for the characters because everything feels real, like this could actually happen and this does happen. Also the great performances by Keitel and Deniro don't hurt either. ANother thing I really like is cinematography, that very grungy look is great, Scorsese uses his visuals as a way of telling the story. Some flaws thoug that keep this from being great, the most noticeably one is the overly obtrusive music, it's perhaps the most annoying and obnoxious musical score I've ever heard. Also the movie lacks plot struture and feels like it just goes endlessly and wherever it feels like which really kills the pacing. And then the ending seemingly comes out of no where and feels more tacked on than anything. But all in all a very solid and entertaining feature, and perhaps Scorsese most down to earth picture.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Directed by Shane Black
Rating: 10/10

Why do I give this a 10 out of 10? Because it's perfect in it's genre, it does exactly what it sets out to do and hits all the marks, it's a perfect example of what the genre is and then elevates it a bit. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a dark comedy spoof of film-noir, it takes all the tenets of noir and then creates it own world and set of rules out of that. First off I'm going start off with the cast. Robert Downey Jr. absolutely delightful, he fits the role perfectly and becomes the character, "Harry Lockhart". Harry's pain, complexities, and inner sanctum of his mind is all opened up to the audience to pick and probe meanwhile a very entertaining murder mystery is aloof. His supporting cast is great as well, Val Kilmer is excellent actor, he's a great pressence as "Gay Perry" lame one liners and all. The story is excellent too with a complete and natural sequence of events that are completely logical for the story and keep us on our toes. Also the atmosphere and editing style is great as well. All in all a splendid flick

If someone sets up a winter edition, I'll be pissed... I like this being a summer thing, it's far more cooler that way

You know, I'd totally forgotten about needing to see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I'll check it out.

Having it as a summer thing kind of prevents really indepth discussion, since most summer movies are just escapism.

Plus non of my reviews are from this summers movies:confused:

I just watched High Plains Drifter. And that flick is brilliant. Eastwood is so extremely badass in this. He's a freeloading, seducing, killing bastard. I like the fact that this movie is slightly supernatural. If you haven't seen it check it out.
