Mh... I get your idea but I'm French and personally I've never heard "Freud" pronounce in the same way as "Froid"... Also the pun would have now been awful for us !

It's the part "Freud (as in Sigmund) is pronounced froid" that I wasn't getting. "Freud" is pronounce [fʁød] and "Froid" is [fʁwa]. On paper it look close but phonetically, it's quite a stretch to link the two imo. But it's okay haha, I get the overall idea anyway.

I totally agree with your last post, if they want to change the name then it's better to avoid any kind of pun. Otherwise, just keep what it is originally. Maybe they could use a mix of real-life physicists names to create some trivia.

It's only cringe to have a guy who's last name just happens to be a homonym for "freeze" be this guy known for actually working in cryogenics. I could see it maybe working if he had a different name, but was nicknamed "Mr. Freeze" due to his work in cryogenics.
