Sequels Mr. Sinister Casting Thread

In the cartoon I always thought Sinister looked like Wesley Snipes with the Blade teeth in....but now that he's been shown in a bunch of different looks. A la the spanish looking ultimate one. I think it should be the guy who was in the Mummy with those tattoes on his face. He's in Deuce Biggalo as well. Don't know his name....

And Depp would be too far to cast.

Oded Fehr. That's a good idea! I can see that! If he can do an English or British accent, that is.

the only thing i'v seen him in was bulletproof monk (as Mr. Funktastic), he didn't have that big of a role, but, i think he did alright with it (considering who he was playing lol)
I am not sure what movie (if its from a movie) that the pic I posted was from

Cool!

What Sinister DOES should make him intimidating. Not his powers.

I love Gerard Butler, and considered him briefly, but he often has trouble disguising his thick accent, which causes a problem for a Victorian character.

What's wrong with a mainstream actor in the role? Irons would be fantastic, as would a number of known and established actors. Remember, for all the *****ing about "known actors" in superhero movies, Liam Neeson and Kevin Spacey nailed Ra's Al Ghul and Lex Luthor, respectively, and Willem Dafoe was a fantastic Norman Osborne. Jack Nicholson made a great Joker, despite being very well known. Even Julian McMahon has to be considered somewhat mainstream because of his work on NIP/TUCK. And hey, Morgan Freeman was Lucius Fox. As long as the actor for a given role can act and is convincing in the part, and isn't a megastar, then I'm all for it.

I'm fine with either a well-known or lesser-know actor. I just feel the actor cast for Sinister should be 30- to 40-ish in age; maybe late 20's, and resemble Bela Logosi as Dracula, just as the character's generally depicted. Sinister should be old enough to have been the controversial scientist that he was. Jeremy Irons is a great actor, no doubt, but like another great actor, Christopher Lee (whom a fan once suggested for the role), he's too obvious a choice, too old, and too classy to play a low-life, degenerate, scumbag, like Sinister. Who, while my favorite X-Men villain, is nothing more that a cheap criminal, with little or no manners, decency, honor, and/or respect.

Hence the phrase "acting".

Besides, Jeremy Irons made ERAGON. The doors are wiiide open.
