He was signing autographs at some haunted trail near the college I was going to a few years ago. I went on the stupid haunted trail just so I could meet with him afterwards and get his autograph. Well since he's from CA and it was october, the poor baby was too cold to stay the first night he was supposed to sign stuff so he was already gone. Mind you, I went there right when they started the trail b/c I figured more people would come at night and maybe I could actually see him without much of a line. He was already gone.
btw, this place was about an hour away from where I lived near campus.
So I went the next night and had to do the stupid trail all over again to try to meet him this time. I was guarrenteed he would be there this time as well. I also went out and bought a nice hulk comic for him to sign b/c all my other ones were at my parents house.
So I meet him and there was no one else in line b/c again, I went right when they started. I shook his hand and told him how I used to watch his show with my mom when I was a kid and I'd pretend to be the hulk. Then I asked him if he could sign my comic and he said he could do it for $20... I told him how I went out and bought the comic espcially just for him to sign. He shrugged. Also, he was really ignoring me and acting like I was bothering him b/c he was talking to some girl that was with him.
I had left my wallet in the car and knew that the wouldn't let me go back through the gate, but I had about $15 and some change from the comic I bought for $34 something (I wanted a cool cover). He said "Sorry, there's nothing I can do".
I even told him how I had come the day before and again, he said there was nothing he could do. I was shocked to see how rude he was. I don't remember saying anything afterwards. My fiance was there beside me the whole time and I asked her if I was being over dramatic about it and maybe I was wrong. I was a little unsure of myself as the event was really awkward. She said that he was a big **** and that I was completely on target with how I remembered the event.
I'm sorry, but that's not how you should treat fans. I'm glad he's a hasbeen. He had a bunch posters and crap and photos and all kinds of stuff he was trying to sell. But of course it was all $20.
So he wouldn't sign my comic, the one I brought for any less than he would for something that I didn't own in the first place. So I would have paid $20 for ink unless I would have got the poster or photo or whatever.
Honestly, I'm glad I didn't have $20 on me. I wouldn't want him to ruin a perfectly good comicbook.
