Ms. Marvel in the works?

Just like Catwoman, Elektra, Tankgirl, and Barbed Wire were all pushed and all tanked so will Ms. marvel. At least make it R-Rated and for around $40 mill so it can keep its hooker-comic look like Barbed Wire did and it wont stain the comic industry so much like Catwoman. Ms. marvel if mad (which I seriously doubt) will be a tanker. You just make sure you pay homage to my sage saying if it does come out and tanks as predictably as I stated. Every time I post I should see a ditto post from you right under mine :oldrazz:

That's your wish.

But reality != your wish

Incoming solo comics and more hype of a movie than any other Marvel female characters = reality, pal.

You keep mentioning Catwoman, Elektra, Tankgirl, and Barbed Wire, in mentioning movies Ms. Marvel will be like. But with the success of the Avengers M/s Marvel (who will probably be called Captain Marvel by that time) will be more like the Avengers which means she will be more like a Wonder Woman/Captain America/Iron Man/Thor type movie. Her costume WILL be tasteful and kid friendly, maybe along those same lines as Thor/Hawkeye/Blackwidow. She wont be done the same way as those other female comic movies. For one reason those films came out (except for Catwoman I guess) before comic movies were taken really seriously. Now they wouldn't dare treat a potential Marvel/Avengers property like they would have treated it before the Avengers movie. Her movie will be, just like Ant Man and Black Panther, one of the solo movies that will cross into the Avengers sequels. It would just be good marketing. One reason Marvel will make sure its a good movie, besides how well the Avengers did and that she is an Avenger, is that she is a female lead. Marvel needs a big female lead, in the movies and the comics, like how DC has Wonder Woman.
I can see the next phase of Marvel solo films being Ant Man by Edgar Wright, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers).

I hope calling her Captain Marvel doesn't stick. Rubs me wrong.

I don't mind it. It might be good, a non gender specific name. Works for a man or a woman, fits her character I think.
I could see the movie working like a buddy cop movie in a way. There is usually one focus in those films. This would be all about Carol. Sure Captain Marvel comes to Earth and is an alien soldier, but the movie would see things through Carol's eyes and focus on her. While Mar-Vell isn't lame Carol would help him during some point in the movie, and he dies saving the day in it and gives her his powers at the same time.
Maybe that would help introduce him and speed things along to get her to become Captain Marvel.

found this, at the time I am posting it its Ms. Marvel's costume but with pants.

I can see them eventually making it a mix between this costume and her new costume. Making it look more like the new one, but more graphic with it being black like this with a gold symbol, and maybe red gloves and boots, something. For the movie I mean.

Do you actually read your own links? Those Spider-Girl comics are reprints, printed first in 2011 or earlier. The latest Spider-Girl comics was cancelled.

Meanwhile Captain Marvel.. which is Ms Marvel in new role by Kelly Sue DeConnick is a starting this July.

Gosh, your prattle keep getting irrelevant to thread. And idiotic for sure for bringing reprint comics as something current. LOL.

So ms. marvel still not in print and movie is sought ok... sounds like a winner.

That works!

Would seem too black though, imo. I think it should be a mix of her Captain Marvel costuime and the costume above.

What on earth does it matter which comics Marvel are currently publishing? The comics division has NOTHING to do with the movie division. I learned that 4 years ago....been trying to look for clues about movie characters and story arcs based on contemporary books, and guess what? *ZERO* correlation between the two.

Hey, Marvel is currently hyping Avengers vs. X-Men! That "clearly" means Fox and Marvel Studios are bringing that to the big screen, right....?

Its more like the movies are started to be made by the studio, using Green Goblin as the bad guy for example, and then around the time the movie is released in theaters comics are also released that have the same bad guy.
So the movies are made first and the comics follow sort of, Green Goblin was all over Spider-Man comics back then but he didn't become the GG from the movies. He was still the same GG from the comics past. Same with Doc Ock. He was all over the comics while he was the main bad guy in Spider-Man 2, but he was still the same ock from before. When SM3 was going to get released the comics did the Back In Black idea, but he didn't start wearing a symbiot costume again like the movie. He was using a regular costume that was black. Other than the costume nothing about the comic was like the movie.
The comics try to be similar to the movie and the movie tries to follow the comic somewhat, but they never go hand in hand really.
If Ms. Marvel or Captain Marvel gets made into a movie, around the time of the movie's release she will be all over Marvel comics.

Here are some designs I did trying to incorporate the new design and the graphic Warbird design. I also think it might be cool to try and design her costume using the Ultimate Captain Marvel design too. I didn't draw her, I found this drawing someone else did of Ms. Marvel and drew over it with my own costume idea. She would have pants, the Captain Marvel symbol, the domino mask, her long blond hair, etc. Also drew what it could look like if she had the Genis cosmic glow like he did. Some of the designs have a red neck area like Captain Marvel's costume used to, but I wasn't sure if I liked it. I like how Warbird's costume had the black all the way up her neck to her hair. Thought that was cool too. But thought there might be too much black, so the red neck area might help.

Yea women in skimpy suits doing magic are never box office gold, yet female super hero comic chics doo sooooo well like Elektra, Catwoman, Tank-girl, and Brabed Wire.

No wonder studios never listen to fanboys sites.

Help me out, what women in skimpy suits doing magic are box office gold? If any such exist, is that why they're successful? Skimpy suits and magic, or is there something about them that makes them successful that Wanda happens not to have?

They may not take it as seriously, but they'll have a lot more fun in the process. Comic movies are meant to be fun, not ultra serious. That was part of what was great about the Avengers compared to some "darker, grittier" movies including X-Men.

The audience doesn't have fun if they don't take it seriously. Fun has to do with character moments (Wolverine: "You're a dick.") and the audience laughs out loud - they're having fun. If things hadn't been tense and serious up until that point, they would not have any fun, it've just been some guy they don't care about being mean to some other guy they don't care about. Having a costume that is silly isn't more fun for anyone but comics fans who want to see comics costumes.

Maybe they could turn them into shorts?

This is where I am. Sets the suit apart visually from Widow while still giving us a costume we can as something more than an advertisement for sexual favors.

That's... pretty awesome. The starfield is very cool, I like it. It's very cosmic-y. Hard as heck to get on film, I'd bet, but very, very, very cool. Great design Sean.

I haven't read anything Ms Marvel in the comics, but I plan on getting Captain Marvel. I'm always drawn to strong women in action, but I find the Avengers lacking with characters like that. I wouldn't have anything against them making a movie about her... it could balance out the genders and introduce some cosmic stuff at the same time. Though I would maybe want to see a Black Panther or Namor movie first :p

That's a pretty nice design, Artistsean, and I've always loved the Genis-Vell "starfield" effect; just wonder how it would look on film. (Pretty damn expensive, I'd say that's how it looks. ;))

One thing, though, I think they'll have to lose in the movie is the domino mask. *Nobody* in the MCU has a secret identity (yet), and even if Carol needed one, that mask wouldn't fool nobody nohow.

Thanks everyone. I am glad you all like my designs.
I would have to agree. Thor doesn't wear his helmet, Cap sometimes looses his mask, and Iron Man has his but you can always see his face in those particular shots. But the helmet is part of Iron Man. I imagine they would get rid of the mask too. I see Carol being like Thor.
The more I think about it the more I think they would make Captain Marvel, Carol's costume, more like Ultimate Captain Marvel's. More alien. Like they did with Thor's. The way they did Thor's costume versus the Earth bound Avengers like Captain America or Blackwidow, I imagine that her being alien based in powers would look more along the lines of the Thor costume. Earthly character like Cap, Hawkeye, Black Widow,, wear lots of straps, zippered, leathery, and fabric looking uniforms. But characters that are alien like Thor, Loki, the Warriors Three, etc, wear elaborately decorated armor. So I can see them taking the Ultimate Captain Marvel armor and designing a variation of it that combines the regular Captain Marvel costume with the Ultimate for the movie. Also they used the Ultimate Mar-Vell in the animated series and the used the Ultimate Hawkeye design in the Avengers movie.

Thor's movie costumes:

And while this would be more creating the story for the movie, I also imagine that the way she gets Captain Marvel's powers would either be because of Kree tech, genetically altering her, or because he dies and she uses all the Kree technology and weaponry he leaves behind (gives her).
So she would be wearing his armor (that would convert to her body) and his weapons that increase her strength, allow her to fly, blast from her hands, etc. Sort of like a super high tech advanced Iron Man suit from aliens.

I'm sorry.. we're still talking about Marvel here right? Do you see how Hawkeye changed his costume like the movie one in the 616 universe? Do you know about a comic line-up titled Avengers Assemble? Do you know that Iron Man is again using the arc reactor to sustain his life? Do you know that Marvel cancelled previous Avengers & IM cartoons to make new ones more similar to the movie characters? There are obvious correlations between comics, TV and movie business, especially in Marvel where they seem to keep in check all their business lines. Now the influence of comics over movie line is more subtle than the other way around, but I believe because of the 00's Avengers small success run (yup, by Bendis) they want an Avengers franchise last/this decade.

Every joe knows that X-Men movie rights is with Fox, so there couldn't be an Avengers vs X-Men movie.

I'll be frank now: what's your alternative to a Ms Marvel movie? I want to know your idea of a competing female movie franchise.

BTW, great costume Artistsean.

I also like Ms Marvel being "covered", even without the domino mask.

I know we all went through a whole list of actresses that could possibly play Ms Marvel, but I noticed all of the picks where woman in the mid to late 30's or close to 30... No for one thing I don't have a problem with that... I hope Marvel goes for one of those actresses, but if they looking for someone a lot younger...

How's about Ashley Hinshaw, (The Chick in Chronicle)

No thanks, and could you spoiler the pic please? It's pretty huge.
