Discuss the various AU versions to CBMs that were planned, but were left on the cutting room floor. Be it Burton's Batman Forever, Aronofsky's Batman Begins, Raimi's Spider-Man 4, Singer's X-Men 3, and more!

Part of me wishes Aronofsky’s Batman Begins movie would have happened just to see if he really would have had Bruce start out wearing a hockey mask and a cape.

Aronofsky's Wolverine probably would have been insane as well.

Raimi's Spider-Man 4 hurt, but it did look like it wasn't panning out if I'm being honest. I can't believe Sony were gifted 1 & 2, and somehow decided they needed to be more involved from there on.

I have to admit, I’ve never had any interest in seeing Raimi’s Spider-Man 4. SM3 really killed my enthusiasm for that series. I feel like once you have Peter publicly smack MJ around onscreen, there’s no coming back from that. Yeah, I know it was the symbiote’s influence but it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when he comes back to her at the end (in front of probably the same people who saw him do that). It just looked like an abusive boyfriend being like, “I’ve changed! I won’t do it again!”

There were a ton of other problems I had with that movie but that one really stuck out to me.

I’ll throw it all the way back.

Do any of you guys remember the OG Batman Vs Superman movie? That was supposed to be directed by Wolfgang Petersen?

The many attempts of Marvel trying to get a film going in the 90's are interesting to me. I know Tom Cruise was going to be Tony Stark at one point.

Cameron's Spider-Man.

Have you ever see the (animated) Mr. Sunday Movies video on that? I have to say… the script might have actually been worse than what Snyder and Terrio cooked up.

Spider-Man 3 has gotten more love in the years since its release mainly thanks to fans who were kids when it came out (see also: the Star Wars prequels) but at the time I really don't remember there being a lot of enthusiasm for a Spider-Man 4 after the mixed at best reaction to the third movie. I myself wasn't a fan of Vulture being the main villain at the time but I also would have preferred a fourth Raimi movie to rebooting the series entirely. I even liked Spider-Man 3 to an extent back then but in the years that followed my focus shifted more towards the Dark Knight trilogy and the MCU to the point where once it was announced that Spider-Man 4 was no longer happening I didn't consider it to be a huge loss.

Raimi's Spider-Man 4
Singer's X-Men 3
Batman: Triumphant
Marvel Studios' Inhumans

Those would have been interesting to see.

Hellboy 3
We were deprived of this for sure. I hate that it didn't happen. I really wonder if The Shape of Water had come out about 5-6 years earlier and still won Best Picture, etc. then maybe that might have given GDT more clout and motivation to finish the trilogy.
