Whatever happened to this? I remember thinking it was a really, really cool series, I was sure it was doing well, then BAM. The last issue I remember was Dracula awakening in his coffin and wanting to find Bloodstorm.

Any other fans?

Oh yeah I remember when they annouced a show called Mutant X I got so excited...till I saw it :(

It ended with Havok being sent back to the 616. There was an Exiles/Uncanny crossover where it was revealed that the Mutant X Havok (the one "our" Havok took over the body of) was still inside Alex Summers' mind.

I only read a few issues, but it was pretty decent. I think it was canceled.

It was cancelled, and I think because it was cancelled they did ended it the way they did.

Spoiler below....

It started with their Captain America turning out to be an evil mutant who went nuclear and nearly killed everyone.

Then the Beyonder came back and killed almost every character fans had been getting to know and love like Spider-Man.
I think It was later revealed that the Beyonder was really the Goblin Queen.

Also Dracula came back and killed, or took back, Storm and Gambit who were turned into vampires before the series started.
Dracula also killed or did something to Havok. but by this time I stopped reading it.

In fairness, Captain America wasn't exactly evil, he just had way too much power for a guy to deal with and stay sane.

And yeah that series was great. The stuff with Beast/Brute was actually heartbreaking to read.

Tangent: Has anybody else noticed a theme with these X-Men solo series ending with the main character going DBZ-uber and destroying the world? Gambit's solo ended the same way.

What I meant about Cap was that he was such a great character, and very noble and selfless too. Then suddenly he explodes and becomes the most evil and dangerous bad guy. I didn't like him going away.

I liked the series, although looking back everything had a negative twist to it, but I didn't like the end. It seemed like the artists and writers said, "your cancelling us? Fine! We'll show you. We'll kill off the entire universe!"

It, and Exiles, was fun in the begginning. I think it would have kept being fun if it wasn't cancelled.
I liked seeing all the known characters in different costumes or looking different and having a different part in the Marvel Universe.
I think the Exiles, with the original story set up, should visit Mutant X's universe.
