THIS **** WAS AWESOME!!!!:wow: Why's everyone so tightly wound and cranky about it?

I posted earlier that everyone who hates the film needs to go see a doctor. This film is UBER KOOL. Better than Superman R and Spidey films. The best superhero film that has the true spirit of the comics.

Or maybe they just don´t assume "inner child" means "excuse to be stupid and sloppy".

then why do you guys blow loads over spider-man?

I admit, most critics were overly harsh, and probably had their mind made up before even seeing it.

But the fact remains that some people expect their movies to be more then just some brainless fun, they actually want well directed, well conceived movies with a compelling script and an engaging cast.

Some people are insistent that we lose our right for quality because of the subject matter, but that's bullcrap and you know it.

What "right to quality" are you typing about?

The right to quality I deserve when I plunk down the $20 I spent for these tickets.

The movie sucks in every department. It's just bad. The script is one of the worst of all comic book adaptations. The acting especially eva mendes is ridiculous. The plot is stupid as hell i want to laugh at it. Sadly, Mark Stevenson Johnson sees comic book movies as brainless stuff. He makes things campy and corny because he thinks that comic book movies shouldn't be taken seriously at all. Or maybe he does not have the skills and talents as a director to just tell a good story.
The weird thing about this film though, is that this is one of those movies that are so bad, you actually come to like it deep down. But the thing is that i don't want it to be one of those movies, i want it to be something we can all be proud of. Something we can stick into the critics' faces and tell them comic book movies have a place in the medium man. That we arent just brainless fanboys. I hope part 2 improves. Im happy with its box office though.

No..Making ignorant assumptions that those who criticize the movie are just a bunch of overly harsh individuals that had their minds made up before seeing the film IS bullcrap.

Struck a nerve did I?

I think there is a high probability that many critics would have their minds made up before seeing this one, especially given the atrocious ads that highlighted some of the worse aspects of the movie imo.

What right to quality? Hmm, well maybe right is a bit to demanding, but given the money spent, and the hopes that were raised, that we would be delivered something better then poorly accomplished mindless drivel.

The movie was good on a low level, and it had more potential then it lived up too.

not really..:word: ever thought about the possibility that somewhere along those harsh critics is a fan which really wished for the success of the movie? well anyway, its that kind of reasoning that is becoming the trend nowadays. you set aside the fanboy-self in you and judge a movie for what it really is (and in this case, a really bad one), result is you get tagged for being short-sighted about it. :woot: ... saying that this movie was good on a low level, IMHO you're so being generous about it..insanely generous..:cwink:

No loss of an innerchcild. It is just big explosions and pretty special effects don't have the same affect on us as they did when we were 12 (this movie's core target).

If I want to see a movie that is both faithful to comics I loved but also A GOOD PIECE of cinema (something Ghost Rider fails on eery level of) I'll go watch Batman Begins, Spider-Man 2, Superman: The Movie, Blade II, etc.

This was not it, though.

Unfortunately, this movie was an underdog from the moment the teaser hit. I don't know how many times I heard people ask "A guy with a flaming head?? That's just silly. It won't be good."

Yea, I loved this movie. But when i saw the trailer for it with my friend when seeing "Hot Fuzz", my friend says: "The Skull and the Fire doesnt look good" then i argued with him about it through all of the trailer's. Then at the end he said: "Look, i just cant watch a guy with his head on fire, it looks crap". I was stunned.

I could say the same about Superman Returns.
hehehe.
Now, that's a bad superhero movie.
GR is actually a cool flick.

From what I hear about this movie, it seems as though the fans, much like the film itself, appear to be taking things too seriously.

I hate this movie.

I never read the comics. Going in, the only exposure to the material was the Marvel Superheroes game with Blackheart as a character. Blackheart was more badass in that video game then he was in the movie. For a main villian, he was terribly boring. He just went about, looking serious and pale in his trenchcoat, killing some people and saying some really bad lines

After Ghost Rider had his showdown with the cops and Eva Mendes was there, Blackheart had the worst line. "Now we know his weakness." And then he gave this little smile, like a pedophile.

Eva Mendes was a terrible actress and really brought down the level of the film.

The plot, I mean, what the hell was so special about this damn contract? Ok, I get it, 1,000 souls or some crap. But why is it a world ending thing?

It's not even a matter that I don't know how to enjoy a "fun, popcorn film." It wasn't fun. The special effects and the pathetic "action scenes" were boring.

This was perhaps one of the first movies I have ever went to, where I couldn't wait until it was over.

This film (GR) was very well directed and NO, Im not an idiot who enjoys Little Man and Epic Movie. I love all the good films like Queen and Departed and believe GR's direction really good, in fact on par with those classics.

EXACTLY.

This is a GET LOOSE AND UNBUCKLE YOUR BELT kind of film. It's like sin city, it's a party on film, it's like a pirates of the carribean only in comic book movie form. WHY people expected to see something besides that in a ghost rider movie is beyond me. I expected a bunch of cool wisecracks from spidey in spider-man and all I got was macy gray. For superman, I expected some respect for the source and all I got was some piano throwing super baby! Why's the internet so harsh on this actually interesting mix of old school western, folktale, and comic book action film that WORKS, not on a shakespearian rah rah rah snobby level, but as a first try at a ghostrider movie, it's not bad! That's a miracle! Look at how crappy x1 is now when you watch it again years later and you'll see what I mean.

God, internet. Lighten up.

I'm sorry, it was badly directed, at times it looked like an MTV music video, not to mention the flashbacks to things that happened ten minutes ago, etc.

Look at Blackheart's meeting with Mephisto and tell me this is a well directed film.

Sorry for enjoying myself then.

I've seen much worse, boss. Need an example? uh... Punisher was crap, most of x3, spidey 2 isn't that great as people make it, batman begins's last third was badly written and just murders batman's character. But as usual the net has tunnel vision in regards to "worst this" or "best that". No big deal if nobody else thinks this movie has fun factor in there somewhere.

Ghost Rider doesn't come close to the absolute worst, but that doesn't mean the directing is any good either.

And its not as if I'm some film snob, I liked Fantastic Four, I liked Crank, those are imo "fun" movies.
