It definately made it's mark on pop culture. As it's still being used by entertainment shows when referring to anything Batman 40 years later. I love the theme, and the show as well. One of my favourites growing up. Good times.

Blame Schumacher and Goldsman for that. To this day, I believe that, with a better script and right tone, Clooney could have been a pretty good Batman.

I can agree with that. It's a little hard to take a film seriously as an actor when you have the director of the film itself telling everyone, "Ok, folks. Now remember, it's a cartoon!" before each and every take. :

It happened the same way with me, the only difference was "Joker's Five Way Revenge" instead of "The Laughing Fish" as the first story where I realised I could read Batman definitely for my whole life.

But I was already running in my house with a towel tied on my neck since the old "nanananananana BATMAN!"... t:

When I was a kid, it was the opposite. I was first introduced by the darker, Burton flicks, and then saw the show. But still, even though I knew in my little adolescent mind that he was a dark avenger, I still dug me some West, and used my tape of the '66 movie as much as '89 and Returns. t:

I know exactly what you mean. I believe the old Adam West series was airing on the Family Channel during the time Burton's Batman 1989 was in it's theatrical run, and I remember always making sure I was in front of the tv when it came on during weekday evenings.

Oh yeah, i stole my dad´s brown robe and pretended it was a cape quite a bit... One of my favorite toys as a kid was a replica of the 66 Batmobile, and I actually built a small bat cave in my bedroom with garbage bags and cans... Yeah, the insanity started early...t:

Cool. For those who don´t know, "Batman" in Portuguese is "Homem-Morcego", but the character´s name isn´t translated, thank God, cuz even in Portuguese it sounds kinda clunky... But we usually pronounce it kinda like "Bah-tcheemun". "Dark Knight" is usually translated as "Cavaleiro das Trevas" which sounds pretty cool in Portuguese and is literally "Knight of the Darkness".

I agree, "Cavaleiro das Trevas" it's a great sounding name, almost epic. Let's see what they'll do with this film title.

Oh yeah, the more literal translation of "maluco" is simply "crazy".

It´s kinda funny to know now that the network´s initial idea was a serious action/adventure show. Wonder if it would have been as successful.
