N.W.A. Straight Outta Compton

Damn, I don't think I've ever seen these pictures before.

Oh, there are some great ones...

I seen those Dre pics lmao, Eazy used them for the Real Compton City G's video.

This year will mark 20 years since Eazy-E passed.

This year will mark 20 years since Eazy-E passed.

A true legend. I can't believe there are kids today(who listen to hip hop) who don't know who Easy E is or have even heard of nwa! But its true, kids today don't know real rap.

This movie looks great and I'm really looking forward to it.

I hope this movie covers the rise and fall of nwa including the break up and fueds. I feel like the movie would have to be close to 3 hours long though to give everything enough time.

And is it wrong of me that I'd love to see a film about deathrow records and the east coast/west coast fued too? Basically a sequel to this.

I kind of agree. Or a cinema verite, City of God type approach where it's almost like watching a documentary. Also, the look of the movie is a bit off. Aside from the hairstyles, it's hard to tell this is supposed to be set during the late 80's/early 90's. It seems like they want to set up N.W.A as having their look down from the start. Ice Cube, for example, is seen in his trademark ball cap (even though all black Dodgers caps weren't available at the time), but this is what Ice Cube and the rest of N.W.A looked like before they started out:

I'm also guessing Arabian Prince has been written out of the movie.

:wow::wow:

Never seen these before! I don't think they would've been as popular with this look :pal:

I was expecting this movie to probably look pretty bad but it looks great . Really looking forward to it. Don't see where the criticism for Ice Cube's son is coming from though, I didn't see any bad acting from him in the trailer, he looks fine so far.

And speaking of that trailer I wasn't the only one who thinks the mom speaking in the beginning of the trailer is strangely in rhythm and on-point with the beat playing, right? "Spinnin' records ain't payin' none of the bills around here" I almost started bobbin' my head to that lady :hehe:

:lmao:

Cube wearing an almost exact same shirt as mine from the same time period, instead of pink it was yellow. I used to wear the collar the same way too. Those '80s fashion we were mad and bad.

Jabar still posting that link would get you in trouble as it is no different than if you embedded it in the post itself best remove it before you get infracted.

Bunch of hypocrites on this site. Because y'all post explicit content on the front page sometimes for crying out loud.

Jeez there really only giving shine to Cube, Dre, and Eazys actors

Saw the trailer for this, looks great, the trailer was cut extremely well.

Jeez there really only giving shine to Cube, Dre, and Eazys actors

Sure seems that way. Eazy's dead and was the owner of the label they were on while Dre and Cube where the ones who blew up musically solo, so it looks like Ren and Yella will be background characters in the movie.

I didn't really mean in the movie I more meant in general with the marketing. Ren and Yella are barely mentioned in the trailer. The first pic was just Cube, Eazy, Dre's actors. And those pics posted earlier about them in NYC didn't feature Hodge or Yella's actor, maybe they didn't even go on the trip. Only Cube and Dre were featured on the intro to the trailer

I mean I get why because Ren and Yella aren't as popular, but still give them some of the limelight lol. It especially weird when Aldis Hodge is a bigger actor than most of the cast.

I was basically saying I think the marketing is reflecting what happens in the movie. As for Hodge, I read he is a regular on an upcoming tv series. Maybe he's currently filming.

Ice Cube Reveals Why Eazy-E’s Son Was Rejected In Upcoming ‘N.W.A’ Biopic

Earlier this week during a phone interview with Colorado radio station, KS 107.5, Ice Cube explained why he and his co-producers decided to choose actor Jason Mitchell instead of Wright, Jr.

music-eazy-e-son.png

It has been rumored that Eazy-E’s son, Eric Wright Jr. was angry about not being able to portray his father in the film, despite Ice Cube’s son being cast to play his own dad.

Ice Cube explained why Lil Eazy didn’t get the part:

“He’s an up-and-coming actor trying to do it, but we needed somebody who was a little more polished to play Eazy, because he goes through a lot in his life,” Cube admitted. “He goes from selling dope in Compton to fighting for his life in a hospital bed. So we needed to find an actor with a lot of range. And we just couldn’t use just anybody. We gave him a shot, and it just didn’t work out.”

Lil Eazy has since dismissed he rumors and offers nothing but support to Jason Mitchell and the film.
