Noir, there's a dude that got his eyes checked at the clinic I work and now he wants to go to coffee with me. It's a dilemma for me.

I really want to stop being such a loner and experience new people, new situations, and all, but I am not attracted to him in the least. He's intelligent and engaging, but he's this 6'4 white guy with more piercings than a pin cushion.

Hmm.. Well, go out to coffee with him, but make it clear that your not into him, you say he is intelligent and engaging sounds like he'd make a good friend. Maybe sometime later you'll get some feelings maybe not, but you need friends and he sounds like he'd be a good one.
