Name That Song!

I was kind of hoping that by starting the "Song Association" Thread it would aid and assist players in finding 3 songs sharing a common theme...

Wow. I can't believe I forgot all about this. Sorry, guys. Here's 3 based on a theme I don't believe we've seen.

1.
Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see

2.
[...] was the colour of her hair
Like a cheap distraction
For a new affair
She knew it would finish
Before it began
Something tells me you lost the plan

3.
Wine is fine but whiskey's quicker
[...] is slow with liquor
Take a bottle, drown your sorrows
Then it floods away tomorrows

All of these, IMO, are very well known songs, but admittedly, the lyrics don't always accompany #1. Good luck!

1. Suicide is painless - M*A*S*H theme

2. INXS - Suicide Blonde

3. Ozzy Ozbourne - Suicide Solution

I'm going to assume you got them all correct (because they make sense to me).

Which means two things:
1. You have to "host" the next round (three songs that share a common theme, usually a word in the Title of the song or the Artist's name).

and

2. You win an animated Gif.

1.
Give me all of your dreams
And let me go along on your way
Give me all of your prayers to sing
And i'll turn the night into the skylight of day
I got a taste of paradise
I'm never gonna let it slip away
I got a taste of paradise
It's all I really need to make me stay --
Just like a child again

2.
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll

3.
Oh - thinkin' about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free

Now nothin' can take you away from me
We've been down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me comin' back for more
Baby you're all that I want

I thought the 3rd one would be the easiest. guess not.

So either Wobbly or Truthteller can host the next round.

I'll have to find time on the weekend to "score" it again and let you folks know the stats...

In the meantime... somebody PM Truthteller/Wobbly to get them to start the next round.

1)
All the times
That we were closed
I remember
These things the most
I've seen all our dreams
Come tumblin' down
I can't stay happy
Without you around

2)
Well, leavin' here, I'm just a raggedy hobo
Lord, I'm leaving here, I'm just a raggedy hobo
Well, that woman I'm in love with, Lord, she's got to go

3)
She was pretty
From New York City
I'm walkin' down that old fair lane
I'm in heat, i'm in love
But i just couldn't tell her so...

4)BONUS!
Well I look way down that lonesome road
Well I look way down that lonesome road
Way way down
Way way down
Way way down that lonesome road

TT, I am truly disappointed by your selection of Peruvian top 40. :( I don't know any of those. I'd guess that #2 is by someone from one of the old blues greats. For some reason, Robert Johnson comes to mind. I'm probably way off, though.

You are closer to the BONUS tune with that. It is very old, but recently covered. Not top 40. The #2 is by a more or less "Southern rock" band... #3 Has also been covered many times, pretty well known. #1 was by a band with a strong PUNK flavor, well known, top 40 hit.

Sorry, dude. I got nothing. Nothing at all. :(

Well... I'm glad to hear from you again. Welcome back! :)

I'll post additional lines of lyrics after we give it a bit more time, maybe someone will recognize something. The theme is very pervasive.

Thanks. I wasn't gone that long. Just 2 weeks in Ireland and 1 in Vermont. Maybe my travels will be over soon. Actually, not likely. In July, I go to Mexico for my honeymoon. Maybe you won't see me that much in the next few months, come to think of it. :)
