Is it "I Don't Like Mondays"??? - why would you say DON'T is a 5 letter word??? Apostrophe is not a letter.

Ok, I think it's a pretty safe bet that there must be an A in there somewhere.

_ _ _ _ A _, _ _ _ _ A _ by _ A _ A _, A _ _, _ _ _, _ A _ A _

Monday, Monday by the Mamas and the Papas!!

Three songs that share a word in the title!!!

1. I used to be the kind of guy
Who'd never let you look inside
I'd smile when I was crying
I had nothing but a life to lose
Thought I had a lot to prove
In my life, there's no denying

2. I hitched a ride with a vending machine repairman
He said he's been down this road more than twice
He was high on intellectualism
I've never been there, but the brochure looks nice

3. Sometimes I'm right and I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the thinker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I'm in
I am ..., yeah

#1 is

Everyday - Bon Jovi

so I guess the link is Everyday... No feckin idea about #3 though

***** for the first two songs and the theme.

The third is a much older Motown tune sung by a girl group.

I honestly have no idea, but based on the rhyme scheme and the theme, I'll guess "Everyday Woman." Who's the band? Uh...let's see: Motown....girl group...the Marvelettes. Ha. If that's true, cute pun pertaining to your name. :)

That would have been cute. But sorry, no, you're wrong on both counts.

Here's a little more of song 3. Hope it helps.

3. There is a blue one, who can't accept the green one
For living with a fat one, trying to be a skinny one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo
We got to live together

Oh. Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone. But wait...they're not a girl band from Motown. Ok. Time to guess the original band again. Girl Motown band? The Supremes?

** baby you got it!!! *lol* don't you just love how confusing it can get when the same song has been done by multiple groups???

So do you want to do the next 3 or should Sweeney or I set it up?

I'll do it. Give me just a couple of minutes to grab lyrics. This time I promise to only use songs people might possibly know.

Ok. This time around, I'm only going to use songs that actually charted in the hopes that more people might know them. They all charted in the 80s (if you include '79). Good luck.

1.
Someone found a letter you wrote me, [...]
and they told the world just how you felt
it must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat
they never said your name
but I knew just who they meant.

2.
Begin the day
With a friendly voice
A companion, unobtrusive
Plays that song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood

3.
I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through.
Oh-a oh
They took the credit for your second symphony.
Rewritten by machine and new technology,
and now I understand the problems you can see.

4.
Well I'm not uptight, not unattractive
turn me on tonight, I'm [...], [...]
Well its not a fight, and I'm not your captive
turn me loose to the night - I'm [...], [...]

I believe these are in chronological order, as well. Happy guessing! :)

#3 is... and I love this one... :)

Video killed the radio star - The Buggles

Is there a common theme?

#1 is

On The Radio - Donna Summer

So I guess the link is Radio...

2. Rush - The Spirit of Radio

I also love Video Killed the Radio Star, it was also redone in the 80's by Bruce Woolley & the Camera Club.

I'm just puzzled that you don't have Radio Ga Ga by Queen!!!

Radio Ga Ga is a classic! I am not surprised that it is not one of the songs... TOO EASY! ;)

Since I think you have managed to finish off the last category, do you feel up to starting a set of 3 songs using a common theme?
