Could be good. I'm planning to check it out.

The trailer was impressive, the production values and effects look damn good.

So is anybody going to watch this?

Its premiering tonight.

Definitely not perfect, but has a lot of damn good elements to it.

I liked it to be honest. The production value looks amazing for tv, don't know there this was filmed but it reminds me of LOTR and last year's Shannara Chronicles. The cast looks solid, nobody is terrible. My one question - who will be the true villain, the Wizard or WWotW ?

It was ok, definitely has potential which I hope isn't squandered.

The witches seem interesting but at the same time not? They are at an all time low in the premiere, with them having to basically serve Oz (which I think they should've held off on him until like the finale or something)

The production value was top notch, this is what I was hoping Once Upon A Time would do instead of FTL being in a never ending forest.

I am going to guess that "Mother" Witch is not dead and she gave "birth" to a new witch who we saw at the end.

Assuming that you're referring to that girl we saw at the end,
her name is Princess Ozma, the rightful ruler of Oz, and the "Mother" witch, whose name is Mombi, had been keeping her magically/medicinally "transformed" into Tip, the boy that Dorothy and Lucas freed when they killed Mombi and left her cave tower.

Kids aren't going to like this or people that want some Marvel Studios comedy. So if that's you, I would not bother with this show.

More Return To Oz (1985) film than the Wizard of Oz (1939) film.

I really liked the out-there fantasy. There wasn't any holding back. It makes me happy to see that on network TV.

Ending was kind of a strange/bad place to stop the story this week. Didn't really like this.

Dorothy was all right...kind of too restrained a performance I think though.

The witch of the west is kind of like a disheveled and drunk Felicity Jones. A hot mess.

Don't know how much the quality will hold up after the premiere but I'll stick around to find out.

^ How/why was it strange to end the second episode of the series on the
revelation that Tip is actually a girl (Ozma)
?

It's decent, I'll give it that.

But I don't see this lasting beyond a season or two max.

So the first episode was last night was it a 1 or 2 hour event
I wouldn't give it more then a single season and I liked it a lot. This screams limited mini series - very 10th Kingdom and Tin Man.

I'd rather the premiere ended on Dorothy. Or next best on a villain hatching a plan against Dorothy. Instead it ends on this side plot...one that isn't even very interesting. At the end I was like, 'yeah ok so what?' Like, 'this is the hook so that people watch next week?'

^ Ozma/Tip's presence and storyline clearly ISN'T a "side-plot", though, especially since they ended Prison of the Abject on her.

It was a 2-hour broadcast comprising 2 episodes (The Beast Foeever and Prison of the Abject).

Wasn't 2 hours, only hour and 15 some minutes but then I didn't have to waste my time watching it with commercials

None of this Ozma stuff is explained to the audience whatsoever in the premiere. The audience has no reason to care.

^ Other than wanting to know what's going on with the character of Tip and why he's suddenly a girl, you mean?

I liked it quite a bit.

I agree with what Magnar is saying about the final scene, though. Honestly, Tip and Jack were the least interesting part up to that point, and knowing what happens in the books it wasn't much of a twist since it's the most source accurate thing that's happened. Basically everything else in the episodes worked for me, though; I was actually kind of surprised by how well it came together.

New episode tonight at 9. Mistress - New - Mistress is the title.

I actually rewatched the premiere the other day. Just as enjoyable on a second go.
