Can we petition for maybe USA or Sci-Fi to pick it up? Both are owned by NBC.

At least the creator cares enough about those of us to watch it, to at least give us some kind of explanation, or so the spoiler says.

NBC is airing the penultimate JM Monday night and the finale next Wednesday. They're not going to change that even if the show is officially canceled. It's too late in the schedule. Besides, with the strike there's nothing to show in its place so why not show the last two eps?

As for the Rube Goldberg device, he's referring to a point in the EW article I posted. In it, Kevin Falls revealed that their ultimate goal was to have all the people Dan had saved connect somehow.

Here's what he said:

Had the show gone for a full season, Falls might have taken all the people that Dan and Livia (Moon Bloodgood) saved this season and turned them into some "Rube Goldberg device for season's end," he says. "All these people would come into play, not so much to save the world, but their stories all culminate into a bigger-picture climax."

It's about cost-to-value also. Maybe "Life" is cheaper to produce, since it's contemporary, and needs neither a lot of special effects, or sets and whole city blocks designed to be from another time.

The writers really messed up Bloodgood's character: Livia. After the first three sightings she became annoying. That was the only thing I didn't like about the series, the character (the actress is HOTTT).
